Oh Man….Where to Start?

I haven’t been on here in a while. There’s a good reason for it. I’ve been dealing with a lot of crap both physically and emotionally.  Physically, I am struggling so much with this whole Diabetes things. From trying to navigate how to use the meter and strips to having to start my log all over again, it’s been a struggle. One of the biggest issues I’ve been having comes at night.

Most people can take a medicine and go to bed again. Me? I take my Remeron and I’m starving. Example? Last night  around a quarter to 12am, I was up making Cream of Wheat.  Not good, especially when I also decided that I wanted brown sugar instead of Splenda. The truth is, my friend Susan has scared me off of Splenda. 🙁 I mean, I still use it for my tea, but I really don’t wanna use a lot of it in other things.

Wednesday, I get paid, and when that happens, I’ll be getting some Stevia.  That should take care of some of this. I also need to get some desirable snacks taht won’t spike my blood sugar.

The other things that have been stressing me out is my lack of grip in my hands. When I did the 24-in-48 read-a-thon last weekend, I tanked because I couldn’t hold my books in my hands anymore. 🙁  So yesterday I bought myself a reading rest book stand from Books-A-Million. Truthfully, it’s been a godsend because I’ve read so much more since then. I may actually get through the last two Darkest Minds books before Friday. (That’s when the movie for the first book comes out. Not sure if we are going to get the full trilogy. I am going to assume that when they got the rights to the first one, the other two were sold, too. (Maybe 3, if they’ve decided to make Zu’s story for the big screen). But I’m not holding my breath, honestly. The 5th Wave tanked at the box office, and other than a few changes, it was right up there with Divergent as being a decent book adaptation.

Still don’t feel confident that this movie will do well, but seeing as one of my favorite young actresses is in it, I want to support it. Plus, Alexandra Bracken is really a great storyteller.  I wish it hadn’t taken me so long to start reading the second book. It’s amazing.  And of course I will own it on Blu-Ray just to show my support even further.  We’ll see if I’m wrong.  But…eh.

Wow that was a tangent. But I guess when I don’t have anyone else to talk to about these things… it just comes out when I can get the words out.

Okay, so I’m gonna go now, but thought i’d give you guys an update on things. 🙂  See you next time!
