Happy 4th of July!

Hi guys. Happy 4th of July! I hope you guys are doing something fun today. I am going to my neighbors’ later and we’re having a BBQ. My favorite part about that is spending time with their doggies, Lilly and Gypsy. These are the dogs I dog sit for on occasion, and Gypsy, in particular, has adopted me as one of her people.

I have decided to re-schedule my Setting and Description and my other Craft of class because there is too much. Too many things are all due at the same time, and I am only one person. July is already a busy month for me. I have Camp NaNoWriMo, the 24in48 read-a-thon, and I also still have the classes I am currently taking. So yeah, a busy July. I think I’ve made the best decision for me.

I started and quit two books this week reading wise. The first one was The Hate U Give, due to the way the dialogue was written. I knew going in that there was a specific point of view being represented, but I still have problems with poor English even in the real world, so I will have to read it slower until I get used to the dialect.

The second is The Book of Joan, which I did not care for because of the sexual content. It turned me off.  I made it through 4 chapters, but I just can’t read anymore of it. I’m sad about that because it’s also a dystopian, and there are very few dystopians I can’t get through. But maybe my brain is just at a point now where it can’t read a book in a certain time frame. It needs to know that it has time to process a book. So I am turning in all of my library books, and probably won’t check any out for a while so I can focus on the ones I do have.

I am currently re-reading The Darkest Minds, and have the goal of reading the last three books (there is a fourth one coming out at the end of the month that I’m gonna snag thanks to Swagbucks and Fetch!) before the August 3rd movie release date. Though I have to be honest, will probably read the original 3 and then read book 4 as the movie is happening since that book comes out at the very end of July.  So I am working on that  on top of my actual writing. (I told you July was busy! Did I lie?)
