NoJoMo 26: Tom Sawyer

I’ve got nothing.  Busy day at work.  It is like a million below zero (not actually, cuz we’d all be dead) and I am getting a cold so slightly out of sorts.  And it is getting late after a calm Friday evening that included the traditional roast beef sandwiches and my cajun fries, Sara losing a front tooth (a really loose tooth got caught in her shirt when the Wife pulled it off her which led to a bloody mouthed Sara coming into me in the kitchen.  Really should have snapped a picture because that would have been freaky!) and the sofa for television.

Again though, not like anyone is around.  I mean, even my Facebook is basically barren of Americans.  Virtually the only updates I have on there are from friends from here, England and Canada.

Eh, time for bed.

Videos!

Classic rock!  Not everything I listen to is weird and cool!  I can listen to some oldies as well, though I am a bit selective (of course!).  First up, the Floyd.  No, not Money, or Comfortably Numb, or Another Brick in the Wall.  I think their most underrated album was Animals.  Here is Dogs, all 17 minutes of it.

I always had a soft spot for Rush, since I liked them during my metal years.  Don’t know what it is but I still kind of like their stuff.  And this time I am posting their big song, because it is cool.  And the video is just like I remember from junior high on MTV.  Tom Sawyer.

And finally the Zep.  Led Zeppelin.  I used to hate them, because when I worked at the Italian restaurant we had music.  And I would play something and the other guys would play Zep.  And I would play something totally different, and they would play Zep.  And then I would play…you get the idea.  But I learned to appreciate them.  And for my money this is one of the best songs.  The Song Remains the Same.

Those that weren’t out shopping on Black Friday were still in a stupor from the Thanksgiving gorge, no doubt. We went out today (nowhere near a shopping mall, of course) and it was if the world was deserted. Quite nice, actually.

RYN: Ya know the funny thing about your note? Not too long before that, I was wondering what it might be like to be an expat. Not that I want to, of course, but after spending 3 years in Germany, I have at least some notion of it. What I can’t stand is that, when the walls come tumbling down over here, the Right will blame everyone else while gleefully laughing. Better to rule in Hell, right…?
