NoJoMo 25: Weather to Fly

I don’t have all that much to say today either.  Plus it is Thanksgiving so it is not as if anyone is even reading this.  You all are probably engorged on turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce and green bean casserole and pumpkin pie….yum!

We are planning to have our "Thanksgiving" during the week between Christmas and New Years.  We usually have a dinner once a year with turkey and the whole thing (my stuffing is awesome.) and this year, since our British/Norwegian friends are not going to be traveling to London like they normally do for Christmas we are inviting them over during that week for turkey.  I am not working that whole week so plenty of time.

Watching New England cream Detroit.

It isn’t actually Thanksgiving here but here is what I am thankful for:

I am thankful for my smart, beautiful, sexy wife.  Not sure what I would do without her.

I am thankful for two wonderfully weird, energetic, passionate, smart, blond girls.  They can drive you crazy but they are worth every gray hair.

I am thankful for my job, which helps pay the bills and is fun and fulfilling.

I am thankful for computers and the internet, without which I wouldn’t be talking to you all right now.

I am thankful for music, the fuel that feeds my day.

I am thankful for coffee, without which I would be unbearable.

I am thankful for sleep, even though I seem to avoid it come midnight.

I am thankful for food, cuz food is awesome.

I am thankful for blowjobs because, well, you all expected me to be thankful for them.  And they are worth being thankful for.

I am thankful for all of you, my online friends.

I am also thankful for…

Videos!

No, not a Thanksgiving theme.  Here are three of my favorite new(ish) bands.

Frightened Rabbit.  I really, really love these guys.  I’ve played them before here but they are worth repeating. This song, Swim Until You Can’t See Land, is new this year and when I hear it I sing it for the rest of the day.

The second band is the National.  This band just gets better and better and better.  I just love his voice.  This is one of those songs that gives me chills.  Bloodbuzz Ohio from their most recent album.

One of my favorite bands of the last decade I guess is Elbow.  They are so underappreciated it is a crime.  They are fairly well known in Britain but elsewhere not at all, seemingly.  I’ve posted their awesome song One Day Like This, which may be one of my favorite songs of all time, but here is another recent one.   This is Weather to Fly, performed with the BBC orchestra, because it is an awesome version.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Yeah, you’d be surprised at how much free time one can have before and after Thanksgiving dinner… ‘:D

Ever since I read about your birthday shower blowjob gift from your wife, I’ve wanted to give my friend one when he gets back into town. I’ve never done it before, and it sounds really fun.
