Case of the Fake People
She sat there, hurt and her eyes transfixed on the screen in front of her. She wonders what went wrong in her life, what did she do to drive every person who had every gotten close to her away. There were a lot of people she would talk to, cry to, laugh with and go out. Now, she was at home, alone, typing on her computer and feeling sorry for herself. She felt it was all some kind of a mistake. She didn’t really lose all of her friends over something so silly as a sleepover. She couldn’t go and she didn’t. Her boyfriend’s ex was hosting it…and she felt uncomfortable. She felt as though she had to watch every word she said, tip toe around because she didn’t want to offend anyone. She felt like she couldn’t really be HER. She loves those people, don’t get her wrong, she just felt awkward and weird. Her boyfriend and his ex weren’t on the best of terms, and had broken up on awful terms. She just can’t figure out how to tell her former best friend about the feelings to try and get her to understand where she is coming from. It’s not like she didn’t wanna go and hang, have fun…she just wouldn’t be able to relax. She wouldn’t be HER. She looks at the computer screen with a nauseated stomach. What is she doing anyway? No one’s going to care reguardless. They don’t take other people’s feelings into account. They don’t want to inconvience themselves like that.
