I’m watching Honey I Shrunk The Kids! Nostalgia, haha.

Right, rant time.
I was meant to hand my portfolio in today for Roz to mark in time for the external verifier visit on Friday, simple right? Oh no no no. Firstly, Roz wasn’t at college this week so she emailed us to let us know we could hand our portfolios into the former Alderman Jackson site and she would collect them from there, but we would need to call beforehand because the office is only manned at certain times. Now, I know where the Alderman Jackson school is, but she said the former site was where we were to hand our work in and gave me a postcode that lead up a road with a dead end and only houses, no schools. So I tried to ring her to confirm if she meant the actual school and after finally getting hold of one of her colleagues I found out that yes, she meant the school but apparently it’s now a college. News to me, but whatever. So all I needed to do was ring up, tell someone I was coming, and drop my work in. Get the phone number off the Alderman Jackson website and it’s an unrecognised number. Brilliant. Finally after Googling I tracked down another number for the school, but could I get hold of anyone from the office despite ringing on and off for four hours? No I could not. And I wasn’t going to waste a trip up there if there wasn’t going to be anybody to answer the door. So in the end I had to email Roz and ask her if I could drop my portfolio into the college instead and she could pick it up from there. What does she email me back with? ‘I will be at the Alderman Jackson site all day tomorrow until 5:30pm.’  THAT’S NOT WHAT I FUCKING ASKED. I’m working 8 -12pm tomorrow morning so I’ll stop by on my way back from work and if she’s not there I’ll have a hissy-fit. Fed up doesn’t even begin to describe it.

End of rant 😛

Other things of non-importance that I’ve done today include:

  • Washed down the walls in the second bedroom and got all the dirt and grease off ready for painting with undercoat.
  • Attempted to bake Battenburg cake for James to take to work tomorrow (when anyone in the office has a birthday, the tradition is to bring in homemade cakes) but they sunk in the middle and were a complete disaster. Luckily we have a back-up trifle 😀
