Day 2 of training was so much better than Day 1, thank god. My bus turned up late so I missed the little chat the girls had with Kate but the gist of it was that she was really annoyed with the way the course was handled yesterday and has filed an official complaint against the care home manager. Apparently the guy is a complete prick anyway and she can’t understand how on earth he’s still in the job. So it turns out that Kate’s really cool and we got on with the theory training which consisted of eight units, sort of skimming through the booklets and talking stuff out. We each got our handbooks and eight workbooks that we need to fill out and return asap. We had a tea and biscuit break and got all of our questions from yesterday answered so that was a relief. I think everyone, myself included, came out of there today feeling positive which is a big difference from yesterday. I’ve paid for my CRB so that should be sent off later and then when its back Kate will contact me and I should be cleared to start. I don’t know my hours yet, we’re all on zero hour contracts, but she said she highly doubts there’ll be a week where we haven’t got hours.
We finished training early (2ish) so I went round to Christina’s because she was looking after her three year old nephew and eight month old niece and y’know, any excuse to see a baby! I was there for a couple of hours and Eliza was just gorgeous. She was a bit unsure of me at first but after a few bouncies and flying around the roomsies she was giggling away. Then I gave her her bottle and she fell asleep on me. Cuuuute!
Came home, made pasta bake, moved my computer upstairs to the (now finished!!) bedroom and I’m going to have a TV night in bed because Thorpe’s claimed the xbox.
I really should take a picture of the bedroom to show you guys, it looks amazing.
