Volunteering for elections again
Tomorrow is Election Day in California and so I volunteered, thinking that it must be about something relevant. But I found out that our precinct only has ONE question on the ballet, about some tax for schooling measure. You would think that politicians can come up with measures such as limiting the amount of outstanding debt to a percentage of revenue and other safeguards like that. But none of that. I am getting a little tired of American politics. One lady in our team has been doing election volunteering since 1964, and I was born in 1963. Maybe I am a little too young for this stuff 🙂
Anyway, here is a picture of the quiet operations at the polling station
We had about 100 people come in, is working a 16 hour shift worth it for that? I guess some efficiency improvements can be made like increasing the precinct size given that half or more are voting by mail now. I guess we did our duty for un-corrupted voting and democracy. Can’t do much much about the special interest corruption in Congress that has plagued the United States since day 1.

The date makes me wonder if the lady got involved because of John Kennedy?
