Lloyd Allan Johnston

Lloyd Allan Johnston, 72, of DeWitt, died Feb. 20. He was born in Bayou Meto May 6, 1937, to Joseph and Zay Bullock Johnston. He served in the Vietnam War and retired as an Air Force veteran and from the Army Corps of Engineers.

His parents; a son, Joseph Allan Johnston; a sister, Virginia Owens; and two brothers, Lester Johnston and Arthur Kemp, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Twila Vaughan Johnston; two daughters, Karen Sue Ellis and her husband, Ron, of Barling and Sharon Lynette Johnston of DeWitt; step-children, Wendell Lawson and his wife, June, of Little Rock and April Sides and her husband, Clay, of White Hall; his ex-wife, Carolyn Lawson of DeWitt; grandchildren, Bet Phillips and her husband, Zach, Brock Ellis, Carolyn Griffie and her husband, Herbert, Michael Ngo, Brittany Donaldson and her husband, David, Emily Lawson, Ryan Ferguson and Gabrielle Ferguson; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Feb. 23 at Essex Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Van Camp Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home of DeWitt.
