Charity Idea

So I have an idea,

I just read an article about an old lady who lives by herself in NYC.  She is 101 and she has lots of young people coming and reading to her and taking care of because she has no family left and all of her old friends have already passed away.  The way that it all started was that one of her neighbors sent out an email to a bunch of people asking them to come and help.  That email got forwarded to friends of friends and eventually a lot of people volunteered to come and help this old lady.

My idea is that why not make this more accesible to people.  If, for example, you see anyone around you that needs help or could use some kind of expertise then why not have a website like facebook where you can post this information and then you can see that the person who needs help is maybe a friend of a friend.  That way if you do help them then you are more inclined to make sure that that person is legit and that the money is not getting lost before it makes it to who you intend it for.  It can work in big cities and small towns. 

People like myself are always looking for somewhere to volunteer and have a hard time finding a place. This could be a place to find quick volunteering gigs. 

Of course, there are a lot of problems with this. You have rapists and killers posting bogus ads to worry about. But hmmm it’s a thought.
