ITT TECH

On a much more positive note, I failed to mention that I started school at ITT Tech about 3 weeks ago.  I am working on an associates degree in Computer Networking, and possibly looking into maybe getting a bachelors in Security Systems.  Both are great fields, and ITT Tech has a program where they do their damndest to get all graduates some kind of entry level job in their job field.  I look forward to my future education there, so far in the 3 weeks I’ve been there I have learned more about computers then I ever knew from at least 10 years of using the damn things. 

This is something I felt I needed to do, I have to have something to strive for rather then to just get by everyday for the rest of my life.  I want to have a good job and a great home and family and I want to feel good about myself for accomplishing it all.  I know that I am too smart and too talented a person to never finish school and just stride from job to job making nothing for the rest of my life. 

Also I am a security guard now at Amazon.com.  It’s aboring job but really good for school because 3/4 of the time I have nothing else to do but study and do h/w.  🙂  I’d say I’ll be keeping that job for quite some time. 

I am also financing a 98 GMC Jimmy, I like it, it’s the ebst vehicle I’ve ever owned between a 95 Mercury Tracer, a 97 Mazda Protege and a 97 Buick Skylark…  It has it’s kinks but nothing that can’t be fixed and it’s affordable

About the military, I have til March of 09 til my contract is up and I have almost 100% decided that I will not be reenlisting even if they do try and offer me a $20,000 6 year extension bonus.  I’m just tired of my job in the military, I’m tired of the lifestyle, it’s become boring rather then exciting anymore.  It’s good for me sure and beneficial in many ways and yes $20K sounds great!  But I have to be honest, it’s just money, although I love money and it’s unfortunatly what makes todays world go round, I can’t make such a huge decision as another 6 years of soldier duties for $20K that I would just blow on a new car and sale my truck…  and of course pay off some bills.  It would be nice but over with real quick.  It’s not worth it. 

Now, UK basketball is pissing me off, 5-5 is an absolute disgraceful record, and I’m embarrassed almost to claim them as my team.  UK football although, I am looking forward to their Music City Bowl game with Florida State, UK were already going to beat their ass’ even before FSU lost 25 players to cheating academically, now when you add FSU’s injuries and players who broke team rules to that list they will be missing 36 players in the game…  WOW, all I see now is UK beating the hell out of them possibly 40-14…  That would be GREAT!
