harvesting
The joys of harvesting and the dilemma of what the heck do I do with all of these cucumbers. I like cucumbers and I could eat them daily. However, it would seem that the people we used to give extra produce away to are either not in our circle of friends anymore (i.e., death, relocation, etc.) or are growing their own gardens now. We don’t grow enough to donate to a food bank either. I honestly think my true problem isn’t the amount of produce we have, but the reduced number of friends and family nearby. I would like to get out more and attempt to make new friends again, but frankly, with Covid and all of its little variants running amok, I’m hesitant. And I’m probably not the only person who feels this way. I do multiple things with the produce I grow and I try new recipes and canning ideas. That seems to be much easier than going out in the world and meeting new people.
I know what you mean how hard it is to put yourself out there with the virus. Here we have local websites/groups you can join online. Maybe you could meet someone virtually at least to have someone new to talk to. 😎
