Where I would like to live….

I am very attached to where I live.  Deeply rooted in fact.  In lots of ways it is perfect for me and I would like to live here for the rest of my life.

But.

Here’s a list of places I’d like to spend some time:

  1. My city son’s basement.  I’d like to stay there long enough to learn the public transit system.  Then I’d like to sample what the city has to offer.  I’d like to feel at home there.   I’d go to the zoo and hang around the state capitol – two separate places I’ll have you know.  I’d find all the art museums and book stores.  I’d go to libraries.  I’d walk trails.  I’d drink coffee with milk.
  2. A cottage on the sea coast.  Not sure which sea coast.  Maine?  Oregon?  The west of Ireland?  I’m sure there are more.  I’d like to see the sea seasons change.  I’d want summer and winter and the times in between.  Surf and rocks and sand and the animals that wash up.  A relationship with sunrise and sunset.
  3. New York.  I’m never sure how I’d manage New York, but I want to be there.  I want to walk the streets and look at the boats and famous buildings.  More art to live with and media where it starts.  Food and parks and people from around the world, people from there and here.  After all I’m there, aren’t I?
  4. LaCrosse WI is a mini-city.  Paris on the Mississippi.  A manageable New York.  I’d live in an upstairs apartment downtown.  Maybe rent a room from someone.  I’d walk the waterfront.  See if Pearl Street Books or Fayze’s would give me a part time job  – otherwise just hang around.  I’m capable of that too.  I’d go to plays and hear live music.
  5. Canada.  I like Canada.  It’s close and they speak English and the money is not that much different.  Canadians are kind people and they have great scenery.  I’d like to try the east part – lots of waterfront there.  I might even eat a lobster.

That may be it for today.  I’d like more of Europe and the Antipodes – which I think are Australia and New Zealand.

Apologies – I miss posting pictures.  My computer is sick – or that’s my excuse.  Funny the excuses we have in life.  Sick computer is only one of many.

“Might even eat a lobster”? Pretty risque. Try the oysters on the half shell first.
