Someone asked…
To download your diary:
1. Go to diary (on top tool bar)
2. Go to diary maintenance
3. on right bottom of page Download Diary
4. Choose all entries
5. Choose include notes (so you don’t lose my brilliant notes ha ha ha)
6. You have choices – text file, XML file, or PDF file
I see DM has added more options, include html or not. As far as I’m concerned none of the downloads are much good but all are better than nothing. Text is text. The XML is suppose to be better for being restored into another diary format. PDF files look like our entries but are limited to 14 at a time and cannot be edited after being downloaded. I would advise doing the text one and the XML one and hoping for the best.
I can’t believe that if every dirty picture ever sent on the internet is available eternally that our diaries which we wrote on purpose can just disappear.
Someone else asked if they could download someone else’s diary. I think you would have to have that person”s password and be signed in as that person to download their diary.
I don’t know if this helps anyone.. But I switched off the wysiwig editor before I downloaded to txt.. then I opened my txt file in Word 2013 and I have a fairly “clean” neat file. Might be worth a try for some.. First time I tried it I didn’t switch off the wysiwig and had a lot of code in the last half of my file. Not sure if this is the reason but it seemed to help when I switched it off. Take care..

Well I only did the plain text download and it seems OK – primitive, but OK. PDF is very limited unless you have the full Adobe Acrobat or other PDF editor. Be well…

Are you moving to prose box?

Yeah, that’s the sequence WHEN IT IS WORKING. I DL’d the XML with code yesterday before OD decided to go off on me. I could not DL the XML with code stripped today. I’ll try again later, if OD holds on long enough for me to note everyone. Be well, my friend. Thomas
