Jayne Anne Krentz…

…. is a very popular writer.

I went to the library yesterday and while wandering in fiction I found a shelf and a half of her books – 46 in all.

I mentioned her to the librarian when I checked out and was told she also writes under the names Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle.

I’m always surprised when I find authors I’ve never heard of, especially when it turns out they are very popular and I’ve never heard of them.

I guess in a sense she writes ‘romance’ novels, though she seems to have other facets too.

My husband and his mother read Harlequin and similar books.  They would exchange grocery sacks full of the books and the work their way through them.  I remember trying to read them and failing.  I wonder if I could read one of Jayne Anne Krentz’s books.  I might just give it a  try.

I brought home a Martin Cruz Smith novel – Tatiana and I’ve got a start on it.  It’s one of his Arcady Renko books, his character from Gorky Park, so in a sense it’s a series too.  I’ve got a start on it.
