Robert’s Progress at 14 months (till tomorrow!!)

Man, it’s been a long time since I have been able and awake to journal!!  I’ve been so tired at night, that I just sometimes prefer to lie down!!  I have no idea where I left off with everything.  OH!  I probably last journaled that the Little Grim passed away.  That is going to be hard to deal with for a long time.  I think my brother has been hit the hardest by our loss.  He has been short with people (so he says – not with me!), and he hasn’t felt like seeing anyone or really talking with anyone.  Unfortunately, he finally called me to talk yesterday while I was at work and busy!    Then when I called him back, he was picking up mom and dad, and he didn’t answer the phone, Dad did.  So I just told mom and dad to take care of him as he doesn’t seem to be doing well.  Mom said that is what she thought.
Robert, on the other hand is doing quite well.  Sheesh!  He’s going to be 15 months old tomorrow!! He is growing and growing (not physically, just in general!)  He runs around, he does stuff he’s not supposed to and checks to see if someone’s coming to correct him (!!)  Let’s see the areas I can comment on right now (as I’m at work!)
Talking:  He babbles a LOT!!  He makes it sound like he’s asking a question or making a statement, but he doesn’t form the right "words".  He mainly still says "DAT" for everything.  Sometimes he says, "Bu" and used to say that for bug and bird, but now uses that interchangeably with DAT.  He CAN say Banana, but sometimes slips into Nanana instead!!  It’s pretty cute!  He gets pretty excited about being able to say it in response to seeing a banana.  While we were in Indiana, especially, his word that he used to ask for something was "Asyaaa?"  and he said it with the correct change of tone at the end of it to let you know it was a question.  He would reach for stuff and always say the same thing…Asyaaa?  SO CUTE!!
Lately he’s been making the "t" and the "p" sounds alone!!  It’s as if he’s just practicing making the sounds, but I think Roy may have figured out what he’s doing.  I guess the drums make a certain sound and when Roy is making "drumming" noises, he uses the T and the P to mimic the cymbals and then the drums.  Maybe that’s what Robert has picked up on.  (he’s so stinkin’ smart, too!!)
Last night Robert and I were outside in the shop area.  Robert spotted the moon and got SO EXCITED!  He was pointing up toward the sky and was saying "Bbbbmm."  He would literally roll the B on his lips and end with the M.  Weird.  I would say "moon" and do the American Sign Language form of moon and he would say "Bbbbmm" and we would go back and forth like that for a while!!   Then later, while I was nursing him in bed, I sang him a song I was making up.  I sang about what we had done and included the sighting of the moon and how I said moon and he said "Bbbbmm" and he listened intently to what I was singing and ended up de-latching so he could excitedly get up and talk about the moon!!  What a smarty-pants!!
