Lisa’s Prego/Robert’s learning/Missing Little Grim

So Lisa was trying to get me to Skype with her for a few days.  I finally had a moment so we hooked up online.  (she in Japan, and me in Cali!!)  She looked so pretty!! I didn’t know why yet…  I asked her to give me a tour around her new house, so she did!!  (SKYPE IS SO COOL!!)  at one point during our chat she MUTED me and said something to Shannon.  My curiosity was peaked, but mainly cuz I didn’t know you could mute someone!!  Then she said that she said something to Shannon that I wasn’t allowed to hear…  that peaked my curiosity even more and I told her she HAD to tell me now!!  So,  how did it go?  I think she stood in front of the camera a little too close and I said, "nice boob!"  she thanked me and mentioned how they are growing!!  Then she said there was only 2 ways that could be happening.  Either she got a boobjob  (not my sister!!) or ….  I asked if she was trying to TELL me something and she mentioned that she’d been sick A LOT!!  YAY!  She’s pregnant!!  Due to her past 2 experiences with pregnancies, I am sworn to secrecy FOR NOW.  Although she has told my folks.  But not my brother.  And actually, I’m hardly talking to him myself, so I don’t think that will be too hard to keep.  Although, if he and I do start up talking again.  The weird thing is I told her when I was with her in GA that maybe her first 2 pregnancies didn’t take because G-d wanted to spare her the immense pain that she was in for if she took a pregnancy to fruition with her bad back.  Now that her back is fixed …  guess the time is NOW!!  Yay!!

Robert has been GETTING INTO STUFF!!  Give that boy a MINUTE and he’ll tear down a LOT!!  I am constantly having to follow after him and either clean up his mess or save him from himself!!  Let’s see things he’s doing to scare the heck out of me…  He rattles doorknobs and is CLOSE to turning one.  When someone goes down the back cement stairs, he runs after them and grabs at the latch on the gate and rattles it, almost figuring out how to unlatch it, but so far not yet (he’s 17 months old!!)  He slides kitchen chairs over to the counter or stove to get up and get into stuff while I’m trying to cook or clean up.  He is QUICK to grab at clean knives in the sink drying, so i have to be EXTRA careful to dry them and put them away right away!! He RUNS for bottles of cleaners if he sees that he is near one!!  I’m sure he’s just dying to squirt some chemical in his mouth and suck it down!!  Little stinker, he scares the heck out of me!!  If he gets 2 seconds (and we’ve forgotten to put up the baby gate) he will run into the office and get up on either one of our chairs and then will help himself to whatever we have going on on our desks!!  Collectibles, work, etc….  kiss it all goodbye!! 

The other night Robert and I watched Zathura together.  That was the first time I saw him a bit scared by a movie, but he was SO into it, he would turn away and clutch at me, then whip his head back around so he could keep watching!!  I really like the effects in that movie, and so did he!!  We had fun watching that one! 

He is trying to say more words, and he’s enjoying saying "Dat" but with a new twist!  He is saying "Dath" now and learning how to say the TH sound.  I mimic him and he gets a real kick out of it and we go back and forth saying DATH!!  He likes to say "WaWa" for water and he draws out the first "W" sound by saying "oooowwwwwwwwwawa!"  It’s very cute!

I have been missing my little Grandma a LOT lately.  I have been crying off and on.  Missing my Gramps too.  I put in a video yesterday that I had gotten from Grandma’s apartment.  It is a video of a seder that took place on April 18, 1992.  It was in Orlando, FL.  I am not sure who was putting it on.  But I was so suprised and delighted to see the video start with a focus on the Little Grim, and her brother , my Uncle Mel!!  Grandpa was there too, and Lisa and Howie who were still in their teens at the time!!  My Mom and Dad, Pamela, her kids and hubby among others.  I am not even sure which babies are who in the video!!  I suspect they’ve all graduated high school now and I’m connected to them on FB!! It’s sad I missed out on so much family stuff when I was younger.  Choosing to remove myself from family seemed ok at the time, but now, I regret missing out on so much.  Cuz now Grandma is gone, and so is Grandpa, and so is Uncle Mel.  They even were tallking to my aunt Phyllis in the video and her son, Willie!!  He’s gone now too!  SO SAD!  It really depresses me all the people I know who have died.  and I’m only in my late 30’s.  I suspect it’s only going to get worse as time goes on!! 

Ok, enough of my downer.  I rented a Jack Black movie that may cheer me up tonight.  I’m thinking about making chocolate chip cookies and also some dinner (fish, red beans and rice, salad).  Sounds ok. 

Roy sold  a car today, and the guy is supposed to show up to pay for it, but my husband is gone.  I wonder if he went to a class that was being offered tonight.  I hope so.  It will be interesting to see what he may have learned when he gets back.  Guess I’d better get to the food, before Robert wakes up!  Wow.  I got to journal at a decent hour tonight.  Not too shabby!
