Baby gets immunized

Robert is 11 weeks old today. and Today the baby got his first "shots." I had debated him getting the immunizations – even tho I am a Peds nurse and should know better. I don’t know for a fact, tho, if the immunizations lead to autism. And the thought of that risk is really taxing my brain. I know that the diseases are deadly, so I went with the schedule. He even got a Hep B today. (I refused it at the hospital after birth) 5 SHOTS he got!! and an oral Rotovirus vaccine. Poor thing. After that I gave him tylenol and he slept for quite a while. He did ok for about 7 hours and then got fussy. I took his temp under his arm (99.5) and then gave him some more tylenol.
When we got home from the Dr. I built him the Peek N’ Play tent w/toys that he got from his cousins Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Jerry. It’s REALLY cool and he liked it immediately upon lying underneath it. He even fell asleep under there. I picked him up moments ago and put him on the big bed. He’s lying next to his dad right now.
I’ve been having trouble with my desktop computer and it just freezes up for no reason and I have to shut it down the hard way. So I need to save this entry before it freezes!!
Awww, shots are always so iffy. I stopped having my daughter immunized after she had two REALLY horrible reactions, and then I found out there’s so many bad things in the vaccines themselves. Plus, I had a problem having my kiddo shot up with aborted fetal cells and tissues, yikes! But we all have to do what we feel is best for our lil ones, right?

Re above note: aborted fetal cells and tissue? Whoa, I don’t know what Americans put in their vaccines….. maybe I should’ve got all of Miia’s vaccinations done in Finland! :-/ Still, if vaccinations really were that bad, I suppose most people on earth would have loads of health problems….. can’t believe everything you hear, you know. Thimerosal has been removed from vaccines now, I think, or at least you can ask for a thimerosal-free version and they gotta give it to you. Here are some stories meant to scare people: http://www.vaccinationnews.com/dailynews/may2001/whatsinvax.htm Miia was just a little sleepy and clingy after her first set of vaccines but took the second set like a pro. She only cried a little because of the sharp needle pain but otherwise she was perfectly fine. 🙂 I’d rather protect her against diseases than worry about minimal amounts of stuff that most people get in contact with in daily life anyways, without any problems.
