What the F?

I love my state. I’m a Texan through and through…annoying levels of pride and all. However, this weather is flat out nuts. We had a very mild winter. With the freak snow that happened Thanksgiving Day aside, we’ve not had any cold precipitation worth noting. That’s a little unusual for Dallas, but not unheard of. Yet here it is, early March…what I like to call "Spring time"…and it snowed a couple of days ago. Not too much stuck where I live, though I hear the cities a little north of Big D got more than a mere inch. The day before I was in a t-shirt and sandals…it had to be at least 65 if not 70 degrees out. And now? My office closed early because the metroplex is expected to get another 5" this afternoon, tonight, and tomorrow. WTF????!?!??!

For those of you from the northern reaches of frozen hell, that may not sound like much. Think of it this way though. With the 2" that averaged around the area plus the 5" expected, that about triples our average annual snowfall (including ice and sleet). How would you feel if we tripled your annual snowfall in one week of precipitation?

I’m trying to be happy about this since I usually enjoy the snow, but I’m a little pissy…mostly because I’m not getting to see the best of it to be honest. I get the half-assed leftovers because I live too far south. *sighs* Oh well. Here’s to Texas weather. This weekend is supposed to be lovely and warm again.

Hope all of you are doing well.

oh man.. snow.. yea don’t get me started on that… but I know what you mean, your snow weather doesn’t compare to mine up here but for you it is bad. Oh weather… it has a sick sense of humor.

Haha, oh man, if our annual average were tripled… that would be scary. Right now Maine (and I think NH too) has literally, and I do mean literally, 6-8 feet of snow… the drifts/snowbanks along the roads easily top 15 feet. We regularly get 2 or 3 feet here, but you couldn’t convince me to move any farther north. Fuck snow, man. Fuck it.

yuck – that’s a lot of snow when it’s supposed to be “spring time”. hopefully it won’t last too long and it’ll warm up so that it’ll melt and you can enjoy better weather. take care.

You have an iota of my sympathy, but only because you’ve been spoiled weather-wise *winks and hugs*
