Well isn’t this interesting

So we have a new cat. Lauren’s sister apparently decided Lauren needed another pet to make her feel better about the loss of Mama, so she went to her local animal shelter and found Steinway. He’s young. I’d be reluctant to say he’s a day over one year old. He’s has some neat black and white markings. His face is predominantly white, with black on top of his head dipping down around one eye, and a little patch on his chin that looks like a goatee. I jokingly say he’s a jazz pianist. He’s also got a fully black tail with one thin white ring towards the tip. I’ll post pictures sometime in the near future.

I’m a little torn about this. With the appearance of a new cat, Lauren has completely abandoned all thought of Mama. Maybe it’s her coping mechanism, but it frustrates me. That said, I’m big on rescuing animals, and Steinway is a very sweet and loveable. He loves being held, and unlike Mama kitty, he’s not in the least bit shy. Within 15 minutes of having been brought here, he claimed the apartment as his. He’s a little more trouble though. He actually has knocked over the Christmas tree a couple of times. We never had to resort to spray bottles of water with Mama, but we do with him.

Anyhow, that’s the latest update. Hope you’re all having a very merry whatever.

Aww, I love cats. We’ve had ours for 10 years now. Although ours isn’t actually mine, she came to me first.

Hmm. Interesting is one word for it. Hopefully she learned her lesson with how Mama got out… and will tag and chip this one. *hugs* Happy winter holiday, hon!

I have to agree with Peteliske. Get that cat its tags, collars, shots, and make certain to take frequent pictures of Steinway. Naming a cat after a piano? Intriguing. -Mike

RYN: I’m warming up to Bond, James Bond. I think Roger Moore is my favorite so far, even if Live and Let Die is my least favorite Bond flick. -Mike

RYN: I didn’t see ALL of Diamonds are Forever, but I saw most of it. I don’t know, it wasn’t TERRIBLE. And let’s not even talk about The Man with the Golden Gun. -Mike

Good luck with the adjustments that come with a new pet.
