Life is good

So…I’m tired, and it’s late, so I’ll keep this briefish.

I found out Friday afternoon that Matt’s Best Buy location ranked well enough nationally that their management types are being sent to Orlando for a week, all expenses paid. What makes it better is that he can bring someone with him at the whopping cost of 10% of airfare. That’s right. I’m going to Orlando for something like 50 bucks. That covers food, airfare, lodging and a fair few of the activity type places around there. I’ll have to buy my own booze, but generally that’s it. Matt will have to attend seminars and meetings for two or three days, but the rest of the time, we’ll be out playing. It’ll be the first week of April, and I can’t wait.

I also got tickets to tonight’s Stars game. They were great seats (Row B right next to the home team penalty box), and we got a parking pass for the lot across the street from the AAC. I went with Lauren, and we had a great time. Unfortunately, we lost, 4-2. We’ll have to be sure to write Harold, the lovely man who gave me the tickets, a bread and butter note though. The seats deserve our gratitude, and he had no control over the refs being jerks or our guys losing control of the puck so many damn times. I mean come one! We started out with a 2-0 lead, and then they score 4 unanswered goals??  Bastards. *grumbles*

I’ve got my appointment with the CPAP salesman set for Friday afternoon. I’ll have the afternoon off, so it will be convenient. The machine is going to cost me anything from $900-$1200. That’s a bit rough…especially when I’ve already drained my FSA for my wisdom teeth procedure. My insurance comes with a $2000 deductible, and CPAPs fall into the ‘durable medical’ category…which means out of pocket until I meet my deductible. Thankfully, my sleep studies will probably also go to my deductible, and part of my office benefits includes half my deductible coming out fo the company HSA. I’ll only have to pull $1000 out of pocket. It’s rough, but my parents aren’t making me pay them back for a while on the oral surgery. I’ll get to use that money on the CPAP machine, and if I can ever make myself sit down long enough to actually do my taxes online, I’ll be able to put any money I get back towards paying my parents back. It’s a bit stressful, but I’ll live.

I actually slept well enough last night to dream and remember it. I’ll have to share those dreams sometime, but I really am too tired to type much more right now. This got longer than I intended it to be as it stands.

I hope all of you are doing well. (Visit Quibodo! http://quibodo.myminicity.com)

Quibodo keeps crashing my browser! And I’m pretty sure that my house is that one that’s out in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, that’s great that you get a free(ish) trip to Orlando. And it’s so nice in April, that should be a lot of fun. Enjoy your trip! -Mike

AWESOME about your trip!!!! Sorry about the hockey and the HSA stuff though. Oy. At least you’re getting healthy and can take a much deserved cheap vacation to make up for it. *hugs*

Ha, looks like you noted me about the same time I noted you! I’m more than happy to take responsibility for the proliferation of RENT lyrics in people’s heads. There are a lot worse things for which I could be responsible, after all…
