Not-cooking adventure
Wow, I can’t believe I just did that!. A woman down at Thomas Dux (my fancy supermarket) was giving tastings of grass-fed beef from her farm in the Southern Highlands. It tasted so good, I bought some rump steak dry-aged for 20 days.
So I got it out to cook it up for dinner, and it looked so good I just had to try a tiny piece out of curiosity. It was good! Really good. Another piece… still good! It was juicy and soft and didn’t even need salt. For the first few bites I felt really strange all over, like my body was outraged at the very thought of it, but after that it just felt like comfort food. I had a similar reaction to the beef stock last month.
The asparagus was done, so I just sliced up the steak and ate it raw. Delicious! I’m so glad I’m not a vegetarian anymore. Wish my digestion luck!
Very interesting. I would like to try something like that, but it hasn’t come up for me yet.
