Making enemies

God I’m having a shitty week.  It seems I’m alternately pissing people off or being pissed off with them.  And my language has gone into the gutter.

First I pissed one guy off by ordering a book and sending him the money for it minus the shipping fee.  Which I didn’t see.  He took it personally and wrote back with this whining email about how little profit he makes and how he has to make a special trip to the post office!  Gah.  Great, person I hope to have successful business relationship with now thinks I’m a cheapskate who’d rip him off at the first opportunity.  (And he charged so much more than Amazon in the first place!  But that’s another story)

While I was getting annoyed about that, Dave succeeded in pissing me off with a series of mildly offensive remarks in the chatroom.  Mostly while I was talking to someone else.  Stupid women-as-sex-objects stuff.  I don’t know what his problem is.  Maybe he was just in an especially bad mood, maybe something to do with the heatwave.  But god, it was ugly!  Eventually I’d had enough and unceremoniously quit.  One more dodgy comment from him and I think I’m going to take him on.

I got a new doona and it seems to have some chemical in it, which is giving me a horrible allergic reaction.  That’s probably part of the reason for my bad mood.  I started ranting at my dad about dangerous and unneccessary chemicals, which didn’t go down well.  I realised belatedly that it’s probably not the best rant to launch at someone with a degree in chemical engineering.  I forget he studied that.  His retaliatory "hooray for chemistry" rant was not the best rant to launch at someone suffering an allergic reaction to an unknown chemical cocktail either.  Result:  he rang to offer a cursory apology, I said I didn’t want to see him.

You’d think I have PMS, but I don’t.  I think it’s whatever’s in this damned doona.  Chemical lunacy.  And they wonder why our immune systems are turning to sludge.  And no, I don’t care to argue about it.  I’m venting.
