Where did time go??

Its been hard getting on here and finding time to do anything during the summer.

All I can tihnk of is the song that says" the week day seem to last forever but the weekends went by so quick….."
It sounds like my life.
The little one wants to stay up till after the sunsets now and doesn’t want to go in.  I get nothing done in the house and don’t feel like being on the computer much since I’m on the stupid thing all day long. Same with the phone….all day long.  I almost long for a crappy day to get housework done.   But then thinking about how long winter was this year…….I don’t want to see its return.

In fact I want to go south or sometihng during the winter to break up the horrible-ness that is winter than take vacation now and go some where when its fantastic here.

I guess I could write more….
Jonathan is one of those kids that things come easy to.  I’m at Dollar Tree and he’s saying the letters in a hat that spells Happy Birthday.  He’s now 2.5 years old.  (30 months)  H-A-P-P-Y he spells.   This from a kid that will NOT let me read him a book.  He picks it up from TV I presume……   It almost makes me feel better about Andrew as I know Dennis is probably not sitting down and working with him either.  Andrew was watched by his father at the same aged….He pretty much had free reign of the house as his father slept on the couch ….half the time not bothering to change him when he got up in the morning…Andrew would pull the stuffing out of his diaper and would be all over the floor.  His father pretty much only fed him mac and cheese during this time.   I fought with state to get him into daycare as We couldn’t afford it with only me working a low paying job that Andrew being with his father was not the best place for him as his father had seizures and alot of medical conditions.  At 3 I got him tested to find he was behind.   I was upset knowing  that nothing was done with him for that yr when we first moved back.   I did have time with him and did read to him and stuff but never felt it was enough.

I ‘m not saying Dennis is THAT bad.  Dennis never lies on the couch the entire day nor doesn’t change him till he digs all the stuffing out.   Jonathan unlike Andrew will take off anything he doesn’t want on including his diaper.   He hasn’t figured out how to put one on by himself though. If he does he will use his potty.   Right now its a control thing with him.  He can put on his clothes himself unlike Andrew who never cared what he wore at this age or even now and he is fussy about what he wears.  Food the same way…..he will demand to eat and get into it anyway he knows how.   I’ve tried reading to him unless he wants to show you whats in a book he will rip it out of your hands and tell you NO.   Fine …no books.   With that said. He knows most of the letters in the alphabet.  He knows his colors and most of the shapes. he knows how many 3 is and other stuff I just shake my head at…

My thought is he’s going to come home from preschool telling me he’s bored and the other kids are stupid…..
Dennis already warned me he came home from 1st grade at lunch  time one dayas he was bored and knew all the stuff that was being taught.

Oh boy, he’s going to be a handful….he’s already ordering his brother  around

Once he’s in school he’ll have more structure and learn patience believe it or not 😉 He’s just a very head strong boy and sounds like one I would have loved to have in my room when I was working at the day care. There is always some little thing that once found can do wonders for the NO to reading and what not. Because you’re mom that thing likely wouldn’t work for you 😉
