Hot warm weather,brings back Memories

 The last 2 days have been unseasonably warm here…..I loved it!   I got to do a bunch of stuff that made life fun the last few days and gave me flashback to when I was young and Easter time.

During spring break when I was young we would either stay in NY and go visit my grandma whom lived about 3 hours down the Thruway or go to Florida.  THe last few days its felt like Florida spring break weather.  Of course going to Florida we would ultimately stop in Orlando and go to Disney World or Epcot or one of th e many amusement parks in the area. Friday I took the kids to the zoo.  It was packed and that’s an understatement!!!  We got there and there was a line about a half mile long.  I was a member and didn’t have to wait in it (Thank GOD!)   The zoo was still packed and to see some of the animals was almost impossible.  Luckily the animal Andrew most wanted to see was  the hardest to get to but the least crowded b/c of it and that would be the Buffalo…Hmm wonder why he likes that so much.  Just waiting to see some of the animals reminded me of being at on of the parks in Florida as the weather was about what it would be and all of the people.

This morning it was still warm out.  We walked up to the Easter Egg Hunt from our house. First time I’ve done that.  The last time we went to this egg hunt was 2 years ago and I don’t think it was even 12 degrees out.  I remember him picking up like 5 eggs and telling me are we done its too cold.  This morning we were wearing SHORTS!! 9am and its 70 degrees out!!  As I walked to the egg hunt my mind drifted back to my youth and grandparents house in Florida.  They had a florida room -screening in porch were we would eat breakfast.  They had a backyard full of citrus trees..oranges, grapefruit, limes, lemons, etc… we would pick fresh fruit from the tree and eat (and drink ) it for breakfast.  After they had this place that we would go easter egg hunting and they did games and all kinds of stuff. Its nice that Andrew is at the age were he can go and do the egg hunt with out me being right there.  Jonathan did do it too. He was excited as he saw them on the ground and wanted to check them out but when the race was on …he got scared.   All the people running at once frightened him and he bawled .  I grabbed him a few eggs and then went to find Andrew whom did very well (thank goodness) 

SO after we went to my parents….my mother had another egg hunt set up and then they colored eggs.  As they got done and were playing around we noticed kids going tot he park and they were having an Easter Egg hunt there as well.  SO more fun…..my parents gave them Easter baskets too. Spoiled…..
