I lived in NC for 3 years and 2 out of those 3 years for an airline. It was the most stressful but fun job I’ve ever had with the best perks. With this airline we all went through a lot. They went bankrupt a month before Sept 11 and went under the day after. The government bailed them out in Dec and we were back in business for a little while before we ceased operations altogether. We were a close knit bunch. Honestly after they went bankrupt and coming back I didn’t think I would be called back as I moved and didn’t give them my new information including telephone number. I had been meaning to but kept forgetting but somehow they tracked me down and I did go back to work with them. I really have missed them. A few visited me in the hospital when I had Andrew, others we hung out a lot together. The last I saw most of them was at Bahama Breeze and I brought Andrew with me and didn’t stay long as it wasn’t a great place to have a baby while everybody was partying. Others we trained people in a different city and we would go out after we finished working. Hell, even when there was no airline this bunch set up and had a Christmas party on our own. I was hoping some of them were on FB but the ones I wanted I couldn’t find. There names are too common place and would pull up hundreds of them.
A few months ago I made Jonathan his own FB page. I know he’s a baby but I liked Farmville (AKA crackville~ if you played it you know why ) and in the corner they suggested friend for him. Not the ones on my list but others. One I noticed was from my airline family. I can’t befriend her on my son’s page as 1.) he’s got a different name than me and 2) they don’t know about him. Again I tried when I got back to my page to find her…..couldn’t…. Last night I pulled up his page again and another of my airline family appeared. I looked at her friends and BINGO almost everybody that I wanted to know about was on there!! YEAH!!! I typed her name in as its not as common and started going down her list of people I reconize. My other favorite buddy was on the list. He like my buddy from Kalamazoo made my day. I just loved working with him and we always had a great time. We rode up together to Buffalo on one trip, they didn’t usually have a 737 going to Buffalo but that day they did and we rode in first class and he was making mixed drinks the entire way. (free drinks in first class) . Okay so I had 2 really good buddy’s that I worked with. I thought for awhile I was a magnet for 21 year old guys. His was such a common name that I didn’t think I would ever find him. Last night one not only did one of them befriend me but wrote to me. I didn’t think out of all of them she would remember me or care but she did and wrote on my wall. I love it!! I really didn’t like NC that much but I missed them.
I’ve been feeling down about looking for a job as a respiratory therapist. Its hard when you don’t have experience in the field other than clinical and they make sure you know that. Some send back sorry you don’t fit the criteria as you need more experience. Well crap if I had a job I would have experience wouldn’t I. But today one of them that I thought would just look me over actually called me today. This is for a Respiratory Coach for a health insurance company. I’m just thrilled that they called me for an interview especially when it says on it 1-2 year experience.
that’s awesome for finding the people you missed! Good luck on your interview!!!!!!!!=)

I was told when I left from my medical coding classes not to be discouraged if they asked for years of experience, always submit a resume you never know who will hire you anyway!! 🙂 NEVER HURTS TO TRY but you need to be patient! 🙂
