Jamie, my love
*deep exhale*
She finally left last night right around midnight. The happenings of the last week seem so surreal and unbelievable. I have looked back through my diaries, and my music. Dates marked by songs that she sent me. May 12th 2007: "We Belong Together" (Gavin Degraw), May 30th 2007, "Hold You In My Arms" (Ray L)… The same songs that once were the only betrayal of our true feelings, we now make love to. My arms now know the mass of her body, my mouth the taste of her skin. Fingertips have traced the lines of her body late into the night, and breathless whispers have uttered truth upon truth.
Is this what it feels like when you have everything you ever wanted?
Late at night, I built a fire to shield us from the cool spring air, and we huddled together beneath the blankets of cloth and stars. Home is where we found that our hearts had never been far apart, even when the thread had seemed so tenuous. I can still talk to her about everything, and I trust her. She sings me David Cassidy, and I give her oldies that speak of innocent love in May. We are writing our stories in seconds and hours, punctuated by laughter and sweetness. We are working toward something, and for the first time in my life, I feel like all I was ever afraid to hope for is possible.
I love her.

Don’t, don’t, don’t let her go and don’t let her leave you because it’ll be unbearable.

This is beautiful. Even though I don’t know the backstory. RYN: Is there any version worth noting beside the Ryan Adams original? 😉 I have a big crush on that man’s mind. And of course, thank you 🙂

RYN: I think it’s the purity of it. The honesty of your moment and emotions. And, yes, I listen to everything Ryan Adams. I have so many CDs piling up around me. He’s so prolific, which is good, because I have an insatiable thirst for his words. He’s on my top five list of people I wish I could take a vacation inside their minds. Right up there with Jack Kerouac and Dr. Seuss.

I haven’t listened to Ray LaMontagne. But if it comes so highly recommended from a fellow Ryan Adams fan, I’ll be sure to check him out ASAP. 🙂

I wish you could help me. Win her back. Can you help me? I’m not even sure. I’m just so desperate.
