that time of year

Not much happening in the wonderful world of me
I’ve had lots of hours at work lately, so that’s kept me busy. Stephen’s been away flying a lot, this weekend was our first full weekend together in probably 8 weeks. We went to his work Christmas party down at the harbour. It was on a cruise boat, with glass walls and an open deck on top where the bar was. Very cool, and the views were gorgeous. All night we were circling by the Opera House and under the Harbour Bridge. I met a lot of fun people and ended up mingling just as much as he did, which was nice for a change. I’m used to being stuck to his side at these things, because a lot of people in his line of work can be quite stuck up and difficult to get to know. Had more than a few glasses of wine, and by the end of the night we stumbled back to the hotel and passed out in bed. Gotta love a good party now and then!

I’m close to being ready for Christmas now. We’ve got everything organized for those crazy Canadians I call my family, lol. It’s just a matter of posting everything. My parents are getting a limited edition print of a painting of the blue mountains. It’s beautiful, actually…and Stephen and I ended up buying a different one to hang in our dining room. Kurtis is getting a black leather Rip Curl wallet, with the logo in silver metal on the front. Christine is getting a bright blue Billabong backpack, perfect for carrying her stuff around while they visit. And together, they’re getting a $100 gift certificate for the Bondi Beach School of Surfing so they can take lessons! My friends are all getting shot glasses and gretting cards, lol (Oh come on, shipping gets expensive!!) Danielle is getting a new blender with a built in tap, to create and serve beverages of her choice. Chris is getting a CD Stomper/labeler thingie, being the little computer freak that he is, hehe.. The rest of the parents have not entirely been worked out yet, but we’ll get to that… And as for Stephen! I’m getting him a new hiking backpack, because our cat peed on his and it reeks of urine, lol Also getting him some new cologne, any suggestions? And probably something fun and silly like a board game or a super soaker, haha We’re both still kids inside, you can’t go wrong!! As for stocking stuffers..well, I’ll know them when I see them. I still want to get him the Season 1 Transformers DVD that I decided against buying last year.

Shitdamn! There was some crazy lightning outside just now… It’s pouring rain like something else. As a matter of fact, the past 4 days have been nothing but rain. It’s not bad, I’ve still been getting outside. Danielle and I went and played in the field accross the street while it was pouring and later found out that someone got struck by lightning at that same time! How terrible is that!! The kids at work have been aweful, from being cooped up inside for so long. It’s hot and humid, so none of them are napping during the day and by 4pm they’re cranky as. Makes my job just that much more interesting, and stressful!

Jewel is coming to Sydney!!! Can you believe it? I saw an ad on t.v. yesterday and I flipped out. Apparently Danielle and Steve have known for weeks, but they didn’t say anything. Stephen wanted to keep it a secret because he was going to get me tickets for Christmas! I didn’t mean to ruin my own Christmas present :oP Anyways, I’m so excited… Seats go on sale on Monday, and if I don’t get tickets I’ll be crying. This means so much to me. I’ve been wanting to see her live for years now! I knew I’d have better chances here than in Winnipeg, hehe

Anyways, I guess that’s all… It was about time I wrote a solid entry. Take care, everyone :o)

love,
.kristin.
