keep thinking!

This has got to be quick, but I feel like i’ve been neglecting this place a bit!  So I managed to get into all the classes I wanted.  I’ve got tuesdays and wednesdays off (always the way, isn’t it) Thank god I start tomorrow.. I am so pumped to have something to do, and I’m actually looking forward to buying my textbooks too!  (am I a dork, or what?!)  I’ve been putting off starting any novels, because I guarantee there will be atleast 2 or 3 that I’ll have to read for my classes anyways.  So far so good in that department, last year I had to read 4 and I thought 2 of them were pretty decent and one of them (Generation X by Douglas Coupland) was fab!  The 4th one didn’t really “turn my crank” but hey, you win some you lose some right? 

So there’s not much happening here today, I should be getting ready for work soon.  They gave me a solid 3 hour shift, so kind of them really.  Atleast it’s a sunday, or else it would hardly be worth going in.  I think I’m going to do a bit of shopping first.  I need to get Stephen an Anniversary present.  God, I had to go and marry the man who has everything!  The problem with Steve is that, if he wants something, or we want something..usually we wind up just going and buying it.  It’s not like we’re made of cash, but because we don’t get gifts from family for Christmas and Birthdays and all that (it’s far too expensive to send stuff overseas) they put money into a bank account for us.  So- we use that!  On top of that, everything that interests him is damn expensive!  I’m sure he’d love a massive plasma screen tv, or you know, a new lap top… but that’s just not going to happen!!!  On top of that, CDs, DVDs and video games are all pointless to buy because when he goes down to malaysia he picks them up for like $3 each!  Oh, and clothes..he buys more clothes than a bloody female when he goes down to the U.S.  He dresses well, so I can’t complain, but it doesn’t make my job that much easier!  I tried asking my brother for ideas, and he goes “ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww”  LOL  Okay, since when are anniversaries gross???  The kid is 21 years old, has been seeing his girlfriend for like 6 years, and doesn’t like the word “anniversary”  There is seriously something wrong with this picture.  Anyways!  To make a long story short, I’m going to have to try and find something at the mall this afternoon.  I was looking at planning a camping trip, and then maybe going sea kayaking or something.. I thought that’d be fun.  Except he’s told me he already has some weekend plans in the works for us- which secretly I’m totally excited about and can’t wait to find out what they are 😀  But again, spoiled my little ideas.  Oh well, who knows I guess I’ll figure something out, eh!   

Bleh.. so I’m totally rambling on now, and really I have nothing of substance to talk about.  Perhaps after tomorrow I’ll have things to say.  Hope all is well with everyone, take care!
