in the moment i can feel myself screaming

veins exploding and mind shaking

nerves quivering and ripping away at any light

no one will see me now

in the past a new love found

the love that lead to a demise in thought

abuse so great as to destroy the beauty life

twisting the flesh of the once innocent

in the future i see wonderous light return

a light that only grows in strengh.

soon scorching the presence of extasy

and again shadows return

they’ve been here before

scratching away pleas for happiness

pounding away at a heart to tired

for pain, begging for salvation

they had left this place for a time

granting peace and tranquility

lovely trinkets grew from the former darkness

i cherished it so

they’ve returned now and’ve made demands

happiness once more lost in the shadows

stripped once again a cold body sits

waiting for one more chance at redemption

cruelty ruled for eternities and more

taking every opportunity it could receive

beating down a precious heart

smiling in the extraneous process

hope had just touched the empty soul

light again once grew

greater now than ever proving lifelong

bliss soon came close beind

the battered and lost mind finds peace

in day, caresses at night

however in the world of dreams

nightmares preside and a past haunts

a glittered shell boasts in the new glory

inside stir unwanted demons

swirling and confusing the deepest of feeling

unknown to the world it stays

a battle insues of the mind of soul

the wondrous life hope gave, the smiles

these are the spoils of war

and darkness grows ever more thirsty

shadows seemingly becoming more powerful

influencing the very prize

each day brings new sorrow to hopeful eyes

but eyes have proven this is worth dying for
