Cosmos

The Beast stands on unseen ground
I may describe what he sees as wholly white
Or wholly black
Both would be incorrect
It is ground
Earth
He feels the uneven shapes beneath his feet
The texture of nature
Then slowly the land forms
Spreading slowly to become visible
A broad ridge
Short while grasses
Sweeping sharply down to where the water is forming
It grows out towards the horizon
Then the sky
Then the sun
Inhale
Exhale
The woman standing beside him
She blinks
Slowly the colours fade
Then the lines
Shapes become vague
Then nothing
He hears her breath
Move
Then feels a hand on his arm
Feels the earth beneath his feet
Shifting of weight
The lifting of one foot
A slow, steady swing
Then down
Slight tension in the arm
The sound of her moving beside him
Hand touching his arm
Shifting weight
Movement
Walk
