Theme of the Week (Magic)
Would the world be a better place if magic existed?
In my opinion, yes, the world would be a better place if magic existed. Of course, what I find to be ‘better’ a lot of people probably wouldn’t. I know for sure the world would definetly be a more interesting place.
Could you imagine being able to throw fireballs? Or ressurect the dead? Or heal life altering critical injuries in moments? Changing the past? All of these things would be possible with magic.
I’m not talking about Harry Potter magic, or Bewitched magic. The magic I refer to is D&D based magic.
Sadly, I also firmly believe that magic would be abused often in our world. I know there have been plenty of times myself where I wanted nothing more than to kill someone… I think if I had the power to throw a building at someone, that is precisely what I would have done.
I think when people have more power to do both good and bad things, they’re better tested. And I think those special few who come out of such tests having done the right thing, are worth their weight in gold. We can only really grow when we’re put under pressure.
I think this world needs more challenges and suffering and pain in all the places of the world that seem to lack it. I think if the world reverted back to a bunch of third world countries, we’d all learn to appreciate all these luxuries we have. Luckily, the next world war will probably take care of this for me.
I think if we had magic in the sense that I’m thinking of. We would destroy ourselves.
But I think the world would be better off that way.
We already are destroying ourselves. Magic would just make it cooler. :]
