Survey Revamped

I heard through one of my readers that I should redo a survey I did long ago, because the answers have probably changed. So here goes.

Been a girl/boy scout? Nope. But I’ve been a soldier. That’s tougher.

Saved someone’s life or had your life saved? I think I’ve done my fair share of life saving and having my life saved.

Seen a rainbow? I use to see a lot when I lived in Florida. I miss them from time to time.

Dreamt a dream that came true? Yeap. Sometimes I dream the future, never anything important, but then it comes true. I can’t really think of any good examples.

Caught a butterfly? No, I have no interests in capturing bugs, and I don’t think they would appreciate if I did that anyways.

Named an individual part of your body? Uhm… No. But I suppose I *could*.

Been on the radio or on TV? Yea. I’ve been on AFN once just working in the background. Nothing special.

Won the lottery? I have the type of luck where if I bought a lottery ticket I’d owe THEM money.

Won a contest or competition? Yea I do well in game competitions. Especially Smash Bros. Also Street Fighter.

Spoken to a homeless person? Yes, plenty. I try to make their day a pleasant one. Poor fellas.

Given someone a love letter that you wrote? Yea, a few. Some have been met with kindness, others nothing kind at all.

Sent someone a surprise though the mail? Hrm. I buy surprise gifts, send it in the mail, then tell the person before they get it… does that count?

Caught an insect and kept it as a pet? I thought we already went over this? No. Now I have a question for you survey, what are you? Some sort of bug freak?

Caught and tamed a wild animal? Nope. Not allowed to have pets in the barracks anyways.

Electrocuted yourself? Oh yea, I’ve had my fair share of electrocution. I’m getting tired of it. I want a Mutant Super Power for all these shocks! Like Magnetos! I wanna control metal now. I expect it.

Been to Belgium? Yes, but only for a day.

Been to a fortune-teller? Not really.

Wished for wings that work? That would be nice, but I don’t wish for it. That’s a waste of a wish honestly.

Had a tooth pulled? Yes, and God it hurts.

Been in the room while a human baby was born? No way! And if I was in a room with a baby being born, I’d be banging on the door to get out!

Been in the room while an animal baby was born? Nope.

Ridden a horse? Yea. We use to own one. Long ago.

Written something on a bathroom wall? Yeap. Who hasn’t?

Written anything in your own blood? No, but I’ve considered it with this recent opportunity (Wisdom teeth).

Drank, slurped or licked someone else’s blood? I’ve been drowning in my own blood at the moment.

Taken a lock of someone else’s hair? No, but I seriously have a weakness towards long dark haired girls. I love to play with their hair.

Given anyone a lock of your hair? No, and sadly I’m losing it.

Worn odd socks on purpose? Not on purpose, but I do it a lot on accident. I don’t really pay attention to my socks. As long as they are the same color I’m good.

Had a stalker? Don’t think so.

Been a stalker? I don’t know, maybe? I hope not.

Swam in the ocean? Shitloads, I lived in Florida once! And to be honest, I hope to one day return home.

Built a sandcastle? Yeap. Twas fun.

Had champagne? Yeap. It’s good. But I can only handle so much.

Had a pen pal? Yes. I’m starting to prefer more and more real letters over emails. There’s just an extra touch of personal care to real letters that you can hold in your hands. It makes you feel somebody cares. Especially in Iraq.

Put your fist through a wall? No, but there are countless times where I’ve wanted to.

Swallowed an object by accident? Yea, quite a bit.

Been arrested? Nope. I follow most of the rules most of the time.

Been thrown out of someplace? A bar once, but that’s old news too.

Given blood? Yes, the army does that “You’re a tough soldier, donate blood!” – “But I” – “I SAID DONATE BLOOD!” often. I haven’t donated blood in a long time though. And I’m not even elgible for awhile thanks to having been in Iraq.

Been to a foam party? What the hell is that? I still don’t know what that is. Nope.

Looked at a tree and considered how the roots could be miles long, trailing and entwining with other roots underground, all of them holding the soil together? Yea, and how this tree could possibly be here long after I’m gone.

Pulled apart a Christmas cracker? What? Uhm… No?

Written graffiti on anything? Uhm.. Just the Bathroom wall thing.

Written a project the night before it was due? Haha, I remember those days. Yes, I use to do that on every project, and still get an A.

Felt like you’ve been a little bit too good to someone? Recently, yes. I’m tired of being walked over, and I think the girl I like doesn’t deserve my friendship honestly. Not after Iraq. I’m so angry! I can’t… contain it anymore. It’s scary to be so angry and not know how to handle it. Or what to do with it all. I can’t release it healthily, but it’s gotta be released sooner or later.

Ran through the woods naked and played in a stream? Supposedlywhen I was a little kid I use to do that. My mom LOOOOOOOVES embarassing me with that story to my g/f’s. Brooke you did not read this last paragraph.

Taken long solitary night walks? Yes. When I lived out in the country in Florida, I use to take long, quiet walks through the forest at night. It was soothing. In Iraq I took two quiet walks through the desert at night, and once it turned into a nightmarish situation in which I realized a phobia I apparently have and didn’t realize I have… Out here in Fort Bliss I don’t really have anywhere I can walk to at night.

Dissected an animal? Ugh, school sucked man. Frogs, worms… Ugh! My mom had to dissect a CAT!! She loves Cats!! I love cats!!

Read your own writing at a poetry reading? I read my own writing in the Morrowind Construction Set. I also MOD a few games now and then, although I usually don’t have anything to say after I go through all the effort of cracking a game. Once I modded Thief 3 to say “Fo’ Shizzle”

Lost something and never found it? My good luck? My next girlfriend? A chance to live a good life that *I* control?

Fired a gun? Ha! 9MM, M16, SAW, Grenades, M209, 50 cal! I’m in the Army, of course I’ve fired weapons! And lemme say, sometimes it’s stress relieving, but really it’s nothing great.

Been camping?Yes, and I’d like to do that again someday. But I need ‘friends’ to be able to do that. I don’t want to camp alone. I’m always alone. That’s nothing fun.

Played in a band? Uhh, the middle school band. I was a drummer. And recently I’ve considered getting a guitar.

Stared into the ocean thinking ‘Early creatures crawled out of that’? I haven’t been to the Ocean since I’ve been in the army, and I reckon the next time I see the Ocean I will be out of the army. And I promise you the first thought that will enter my mind will be something along the lines of “I’m Free” and I’ll probably cry. I will probably go to the beach alone that day. And I will probably fall into a brooding depression afterwards. And now that I don’t shut people out I don’t know how I’m going to deal with that.

Won a carnival fish? Yes, Gold fish. Long ago.

Said ‘I hate everyone’ and really meant it literally? Oh yes. And this diary is a witness to it. And I still feel that way sometimes. Sometimes I just wish everybody would suffer just so I could feel better. I seriously can’t get this anger out of me.

Been inside an abandoned building? Yes. There was this old abandoned half-destroyed hotel called “Harder Hall” Here’s a link with a picture of the building. You can even read a short paragraph on it’s history.

The place is soooooo creepy at night. And it’s always rumored to be haunted. By myself, I made it to the top of that building. In the picture, at the very top of the building, you can see how there’s like an open dock at the top. I was there. The building is creepy because it’s soooooooooo deathly silent in there. And it’s always creepy. And what’s worse, is that stairs leading from each floor are always placed at opposite ends, so in order to get to the top, you have to walk accross each floor, past each open and potentially haunted room. Very scary. I remember feeling an overwhelming sense of dread in that place.

I also took one of my girlfriends there… We didn’t make it to the top because they had boarded up all the entrances then… But I was still so proud of how far she went! I also miss that time because I was a good boyfriend back then. I chased away her fears and could even make her laugh, in a supposedly haunted building. I still regret the fact that Cynthia and I drifted apart over time.

Given anyone a haircut? No no no, I’m clumsy, and everyone knows it.

Bitten your dentists hand? No, but after this wisdom teeth removal, I might have to start.

Ridden in a hot air balloon? Yes, but not high up. And waaaaaay long ago. When I was a kid.

Been a cheerleader? What the hell do you think? No.

Eaten grass? Yeaaaap. Especially in Basic. And I hope I never do again.

Been lost in a bad part of a city? Every now and then. But it’s all about confidence. If you look confident, people wont fuck with you.

Streaked at a public event? Nope. I don’t like to show off The Family Jewels.

Been on a blind date? Nope.

Smashed pumpkins? That sounds like a certain band, but no, I haven’t. Why would you do that?

Attended a private school? Haha, no, I was a public school kid.

Done any drugs? Just my prescriptions when I have ’em.

Drank alcohol? Yes, and right now that sounds good. I don’t drink very often. Once every blue moon. But right now I’m feeling down and depressed. Alcohol would definetly help me escape.

Tried to set a bug on fire with a magnifying glass? Ha, yea! I was evil. But you know what, now I feel terrible for saying that. God I am so going to hell.

Made a snow angel? YES!! My first time in Graffenwoer within my first 3 months of being in Germany, it SNOWED!! My very first time in snow! I did everything, even made a snowman *but he got ran over by a tank*.

Dreamed you could fly? Yea. And thanks to these drugs, I sometimes really think I can.

Had a job? Several. Publix Grocery Store, Produce stand, and now the Army — Which has taken me several places.

Bungee jumped? No, but I would love to do that.

Felt betrayed? Yes. And hurt. But I now have what I like to call the 2-strike system. 2 strikes and you’re out. Kinda like baseball except 2 strikes not 3. By the way I’m on drugs right now while typing this so…

Been in a car accident? Every accident my family has been in I’ve been in the passenger seat. But I survived!

Had a close friend die? Not close, but more than my fair share of friends have been murdered and one day there will BE a reckoning.

Had a close family member die? Yes, my family does not live long.

Seen the Eiffel tower? No, and honestly I’m so sick of traveling that I have no interest in ever seeing that silly tower. I just want to go home, dammit.

Seen the Statue of Liberty? I will make an exception for that. I would love to see that statue.

Told a secret you swore you wouldn’t tell? No. I have a Top Secret clearance granted to me by the US Government. I can keep a secret. I have not told secrets and I will never tell secrets.

Stolen anything? I do every now and then. And nowadays I don’t really feel guilty for it either.

Met anyone famous? Generals mostly.

Been on stage? I’ve karaoke’d from time to time. Does that count?

Intentionally hurt someone? Physically no. Emotionally I’ve been an ass a time or two.

Been to Europe? Gee. I was only stationed in Germany for 2 years.

Been convicted of a crime? Nope.

Been in a mosh pit? Nope.

Been asked for an autograph? Yes actually, and I’ve given it out a few times. Uhhh. The pain in my head right now. =(

Had toilet paper stuck to your shoe? Haha, no. That’s silly.

Been caught with your fly unzipped? Yea, that sucks. I really hate that. Like I said, I don’t like to show off me Family Jewels.

Had your trousers fall down in public? Haha, no way. That’d be fucked up.

Been in a fight? Something like that. I’ve been shoved and I’ve shoved back, and I’ve been all up in someone’s face, but it’s never resulted in fighting. Like I said, it’s all about confidence. If I look like I’m not the type to be walked over, I wont be walked over.

Hitchhiked? No. I prefer to walk anyways. Sometimes I do walk to places just to walk.

Picked up a hitchhiker? Yea a few. I’m not afraid of them. It’s all about doing what you can to help others.

Purposefully cut/hurt yourself? Yes. No comments.

Slept outdoors? Yes, in rain, and in snow. Pine needles are your best friend, people.

Been in court? Yea I have. I’ve taken buddies to go get legally married. Haha.

Had surgery? Yes. Wisdom teeth, and I hurt so bad right now.

Wished upon a star? Yes, I love doing that. I made a wish upon an Iraqi star (what I like to call it) and I hope it comes true one day. I hope at least one wish of mine comes true in my life. I’ve made about 2-3 wishes.

Tried yoga? No, I’m not very flexible.

Lost your balance out of nowhere? God yes, and these pills don’t help.

Run into a closed door? A sliding glass door, yes. Didn’t see it. =(

Broken a bone? No, but if it’s anything like wisdom teeth, I have no intention of ever doing that.
