Rambling. Final Fantasy 6 too… =)

I wanted to get out of bed at 6AM (like always), but I didn’t actually get up until around 7:30 (as always). =

I need to start going to bed earlier so I can wake up earlier. The earlier I get to work, the earlier I can go home. I guess I wasn’t all too excited about Monday because I had worked the weekend away. But then again what else would I do with a weekend…

I only had 3 items left on my checklist. My goal was to get them done by the end of the day, but I only finished mostly 2. Not quite 2. But mostly 2. Kind of disappointed about that. Our computers have all this bloatware software installed on our systems, and all it does is slow our computers down. Badly. My computer always seems to practically die on me around 2:30… So now I always say in a 5-hour-energy tone “My computer’s dealing with that 2:30 feeling”.

One day, I am just going to completely lose it and buy 8 gallons of 5 Hour Energy and just douse my machine in it.

WAKE THE FUCK UP, COMPUTER.

I did a CTRL ALT DEL, launched the task manager… The virus scanner had kicked off. 600 MBs of RAM (machine’s only got 2GBs), and a solid hard drive light. Blegh.

… And yes… if I want to write more… this is what my entries would be about… Nothing exciting happens in my life. =(

I had to have my boss fill out some paperwork for this apartment I’m trying to move into. It was basically paperwork saying “Bruce is not a douche”. It states how much pay I make, how stable my job is… etc. etc.

He put as the comment “Bruce is a very good worker.” So yay to free unneccessary compliments.

They also checked my credit. I know because I have an app that monitors my records. The best part is… out of the 3 credit bureaus, they checked the one I have the best score with (Transunion), so that was nice.

I drove to the apartment place after work to make sure they got my bosses FAX. They did. Apparently my landlord gave me compliments too “She said you are a very outstanding tenant”. So it looks like I’ll be moving in to this place for sure. Within a month I’ll have a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment of my own. The bathroom and kitchen are tiny… but we can’t all have the luxury of being poor enough to live in the nice fixed income place… =

I think when I move out I’m going to be very lonely for awhile. There’ll be no one around but myself. It’ll take me awhile to get use to that again.

I’ve been trying to get a programmer friend (Jack) a job at CACI. Today my boss mentioned trying to bring him in for an interview soon. I’m excited for my friend. I hope he gets the job. He’s very smart and he knows how to do the job,… but his problem is he has no degree. And even though degrees are bullshit papers… you still need them for higher income / paperwork qualifications in this world. Which sucks. If he gets hired, he’ll have the same job/title as me… but will make less money than me, simply because he has no degree. That’s the way the world works. For now.

My entry has no structure. I jump from topic to topic. I might try to shuffle these paragraphs around when it’s over.

I’ve been trying to prioritize what furniture I’d buy in what order when I finally get my own place. Obviously the bed takes #1 priority… as sleeping on the floor would suck. I think after that, I’d like a washer/dryer. Then a desk and chair for my computer. Then a microwave.

That’s my priorities so far.

I’ve been checking out washer/dryers everywhere I see them. It’s hard to know what’s a good deal, and what’s a ripoff. Especially when you know nothing about washers/dryers. I don’t want the cheapest washer/dryer there simply because they’re the cheapest. But I also don’t want the most expensive one simply because it’s the most expensive. I want a good quality, and a matching style (washer matches dryer), at a not so ripoff price.

I think I’ve been feeling down lately. Not really sure what I’m feeling. I’ve been listening to Nobuo Uematsu to feel better. That man is a genius. His music will outlive Beethoven’s and Mozart’s for sure.

In fact, just thinking about Final Fantasy 6 in general makes me feel better. The story of that game has so many morals and lessons in it. It’s like Chicken Soup for the Gamer’s Soul. I’ll even share a snippet for you.

There’s a character in the game named Cyan. Cyan is a knight. The honorable defender of the King of Doma Castle. Well a war breaks out between Doma and the Empire, and in the end, Doma’s citizens and King are poisoned, and they all die, despite Cyan’s best efforts to protect his people. The worst part of all, is that his wife Elaine, and his son Owain, also died. Which leaves Cyan as a shattered man for most of FF6 (One of FF6’s main themes is coping with loss).

Throughout the adventures, you visit a town called Mobliz, and in that town there’s a wounded soldier of the Empire. He was drafted against his will to fight for the Empire. He was caught trying to escape and was beaten to near death. He’s crippled. He’ll never be able to walk again. But he asks the party to send love letters to his beloved Lola for him. So the party helps him mail letters to his Lola, who is waiting for him back in their hometown.

Well the adventures continue for your party, and eventually the world gets destroyed. The apocalypse happens, basically. The party is scattered to the winds, with the fate of everyone (including Cyan) being unknown. What few party members you have left begin traveling and trying to regroup. They discover that the town of Mobliz was ravaged, and the injured soldier did not survive the apocalypse.

Yet while traveling through the town where Lola lives, you find that her house is packed with flowers and gifts and letters from her boyfriend, and she can’t wait to see him again. Since the party knows that Mobliz was destroyed, they decide to investigate. And this is what you find.

And while Cyan probably helped Lola out on the road to healing, Cyan himself still had a way to go in getting over the death ofhis family and the world.

I just thought I’d share that. It’s got to be the best game ever.

heh, every night I tell myself that I’ll be in bed by midnight. Last night was the closest I’ve gotten this year. 12:14! Woohoo!!!! Of course, I didn’t fall asleep until about 1:30. But getting in bed is the first step! lol

I love final fantasy. I think my favorite song from the series has got to be “clash on the big bridge” and “Melodies of life” (FF9)

Mega Bruce entry! This is awesome. It’s always great receiving unexpected compliments. Your apartment sounds promising, but I can imagine it could be a bit lonely at first until you get used to it. Good luck with the furniture hunt: I wish you all the buyers luck!
