I miss my old diary entries.

I’m feeling all reminiscy and here I am, unable to look through my old entries. Y’know, the ones the hacker deleted years ago….

Did they ever catch that guy?

I wish I understood why he/she did such a thing.

So instead I just looked at old notes. On Helen’s diary. lol.

I was a very different person 4-5 years ago. It’s fun to look back on old times and realize that. And just think, another 4-5 years down
the road, I’ll be looking at THIS entry thinking how different I am from now.

It’s like the only real constant in the universe is change. Isn’t that something? It’s also kind of sad.

Like my hometown. My hometown is the same hometown as my Dad. But at the same time we have totally different hometowns. His hometown didn’t have Mcdonald’s, Publix, or any kind of major store like MY hometown does. And if you think about it like that… the kids who have the same hometown as my Dad and I, their hometown isn’t our hometown at the same time, because MY hometown didn’t have a Wal-Mart, or a 6 lane highway running through it.

Change changes. <– Isn't that a crazy notion?

So even though you probably wont see this for a few days until you get settled in on this continent… (Welcome, btw, Helen), thank you for still having my old ass notes.

I also don’t write as much as I use to. Maybe as a younger person I just had more going on? Or maybe more things were significant and full of drama for me back then.

I remember when I was going through my breakup with Janice, I musta wrote 2 entries a day.

Which btw… Janice has had another kid recently. Now she’s got 2 kids. 2 girls. And I have to say, that I am glad she is still with the guy she left me for so long ago. At least I know she’s truly happy with him. That means she’s been with him for… almost a decade now!

She’s the only girlfriend that actually knew/knows about this OD. But I’m sure she doesn’t check it anymore. She use to though… just to keep me on my toes.

Anyways…

We did some cool stuff in DirectX (my class for this month)…

We made our first 3 dimensional environment from scratch.

We took a blank ass notepad type file… and made from it… a 3 dimensional world! Isn’t that amazing?

Of course… this little 3D program was very small. It’s basically a ground, and a cube, floating above the ground. You can move the camera around on the ground, and you can rotate the cube. You can also scale (make grow or shrink) the cube. And the cube is at the origin of the universe (0, 0, 0, 0). lol

I’ll post some pictures. I’m really excited about this:

A picture of the cube just sitting on the ground.

Scaling the cube… part of it went through the ground.

…So I moved the camera back!

And last but not least… I decided to rotate the cube

When you let go of the scaling button, the cube shrinks back down to normal size.

It’s not much, but man, it is by far the COOLEST thing ever. I am just [–] that much closer to making real 3D video games. It’s amazing to me.

Christ. I’m such a nerd. I need a girlfriend or something.

—EDIT—

PS – The hardest part about this project: We had to come up with like 8 colors. Do you know how hard it was to come up with 8 colors? It took me forever. lol. I think I only know 4 colors at the most. Maybe 6.

—EDIT EDIT—

After writing that first edit… I decided to try to come up with 8 colors again. I failed… again. Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Black, … Orange, Pink… fuck.

I liked this entry 🙂 it’s true what you said about change.. it’s ridiculous. I actually just had this conversation with someone I haven’t talked to in years and years today. Nostalgia is a good thing to experience sometime and do not call yourself a nerd – do you know how talented you are?! LOL at the colour thing =] My dad is colour blind so we always laughed at him over that. CHEERS 🙂
