New Job
I’m writing you from the kitchen table at my new EMS station. First day on shift as a 911 EMT. I’m sitting here terrified that we’re going to get a call and someone is actually going to need my help. New journeys and memories await.

I remember that day well. Terrified. First run, kid who split his head open with a can that fell out of the cabinet. I thought I would pass out watching the doc trim the edges for sutures. Doc made me stay in the room anyway. Best thing he ever did. Now 20 yrs later I am a nurse and stick my hands in open abdominal cavity flesh eating bacteria wounds, dreaming of aa 5 min break and a granola bar LOL
