It’s Like A Part of Me Is Dying

I discovered Open Diary back in 1998. I was a teenager, and I wasn’t very smart or internet savvy, but I loved Open Diary as soon as I found it. I started a diary, and I encouraged my friends to start a diary. A lot of those early diary entries detailed my journey on Zelda, Ocarina of Time. I met sad gay guys who wrote depressing poetry. Then I spent a few years traveling around, without internet, and ended up deleting that diary.

I came back to OD in 2005, roped in my friend Beckie (SaFireMoon) and have been writing in here ever since. I met so many friends that have disappeared over time. I had friends in Australia, and Florida, and Ohio, and England. I wrote stories and plays, fairy tales, and long boring whiny descriptions of my daily life.

In 2009 I met Chance. He was the love of my life, my first actual relationship. And I met him on here. Even though we’re no longer together, he’s still very important to me.

My Open Diary chronicles the majority of my sad, bumbling 20’s. Perhaps now that I’m into my 30’s, it’s time to move on.

I appreciate Open Diary being here for me. I’ll miss my friends on here that haven’t moved to Prosebox, or friended me on Facebook. I don’t know where they went, but maybe they’ll find me some day.

We met each other kind of late. And I know I haven’t been around much. If we had met earlier you could definitely have put me in that group of sad gay guys who wrote depressing poetry.

I am really bummed. I don’t know of any other writing site like this where we can decorate our diaries. I miss giving you my password and having you decorate my diary. This really fucking sucks.
