Wrestling with my Brother

Last night I put up a new bird bath in the yard. The old one had a leak. Sometimes it would hold water and other times it would run right out.  The base of the old one was totally wrapped with ivy so I just screwed the new post into the old base. Luckily they fit : ).  It was a nice warm evening about 80 degrees so I read in the yard for a bit while Diane ran some errands.  After that we ran over to Walmart (hate that place but they are the only place with good prices on her pills). We had a snack at Subway there in the store. After that we just had a relaxing night at home. Diane talked with her friend, Deb, who is having trouble with her SO.

I called my brother Jerry to wish him a Happy Birthday.  He is exactly 51 weeks older than me. When we were growing up we used to always wrestle during the 1 week of the year when we were "the same age". He usually won anyway. To this day we still laugh about it every year during that week between our birthdays. I told him he was lucky I wasn’t around to beat him up. Now that he’s older, he’s off the hook.

He told me that he thinks things are all set for Shawna’s wedding. (his daughter). She has made all the arrangements. All he does is pay the bills. It’s supposed to be a nice place. Only me, Mike and Dorothy will be attending. It’s just too far for the others. It’s a shame. It’s hard to get big families like ours together anymore. Everyone is scattered about making their own life. Glad we’re going to make it.

Tonight I need to pack my stuff so I’m ready for the flight. Diane doesn’t fly that much so I’ll need to help her tomorrow. We leave at 3:15 on Friday.
