The Cabin Frame is Up!

What a day!!!! We had a great group of friends and family put it all together. I was a bit nervous about potential errors and things that might not fit but there were only a couple of places I had to get the chisel out. We started a bit later than planned. but at 11:00 am we got started and had the first bents raised by noon. Then we used the excavator (seen behind the building) to raise the heavy, 23 foot long top plates. they slid right on top of the posts with a little persuasion from the sledge hammer. Then we spent the afternoon putting up rafters. By about 4:30 we were done!

I’m spending today decompressing and will comment with more of my thoughts in the next day or so. But for now,
