Snowy Weekend & Squirrel Pic
Got a brisk 5 1/2 mile ski in yesterday. This one was more of a workout instead of a casual one. I went to the Burr Oak metropark. It has a paved trail that is 3 miles long. Too bad it had been plowed early in the day. The only snow on it was the 2 inches from that day. Still it was a good ski. I took off about 2:30 and got back just about 1 hour later. Only stopped a couple of times to talk with some folks. I felt really good and I’m starting to get my ski legs back. Felt really good to do this.
Here is a picture of one of the squirrels weve been feeding all winter. I was running out of the shelled ones so I put out a bowl they didn’t have to work at. They’re fat and happy now.
Last night we had neighbors over for a pizza party to celebrate Diane’s birthday. We lit a fire and watched the movie National Treasure. OK flick. Just nice to kick back with friends and see the snow outside. Finally got to bed at midnight. (Late for me)
So, now I’m getting caught up on the news on the internet. The Hockey Cats split a pair with UMass this weekend and the Ohio State basketball team beat Minn. Florida lost so they may move up to #1 in the polls. I watched a movie "Who Killed The Electric Car". I recommend this. I found myself getting upset at the tremendous power of the combined Auto industry, oil industry and their hired guns in Washington. Really fries me. They’ll get theirs. (GM already is and so is Bush).
Today I tackeled the project to get all the CD’s into albums. I had to go out and buy 2 more of them. Now we have 6 albums that each hold about 130 CD’s. There are only a few empty pages left. I’m getting smart and only buying the ones that are 3 ring with removable pages. Two of the first albums I bought don’t so it’s a pain when you get more CD’s and have to move some around to fit them in. I have most of them ripped to my PC as well. I rarely play the discs anymore but Diane still does.
After I finished with that project I took Diane to Toys R Us to return a doll that was given to her for a present. The place looks deserted. I’m sure they’re not doing well. Not sure how much longer they’ll be open. Their customer service is awful too. Because there was no receipt, they will not even exchange the thing! Most places will still do that. Diane made some disparaging remark and we walked out.
Now I’m kicking back with a good book and sipping a cup of tea.
Namaste
