Cabin – First Timbers in Place

We moved the first timbers into place this morning. My brother, Dean, gave me a hand. We used the tractor to lift each one and then he grabbed one end to guide it along as I drove.  These 20 ft timbers are VERY HEAVY!

I needed to get them out of the shop because they are so large and in the way.  I might not get the next beams cut too quickly. We have a lot of wood to cut first so that it will be dry and ready for spring. But the plan is to get all the floor timbers in place before winter.
