Busy Week in Vt
It’s been a busy but fun week up here in Vermont. I got several things done at work and got to see a lot of my old friends. It got a bit hectic. I went out to dinner every night either for work or with friends. My 50 year old bones like to take a night off avery 2-3 days.
Monday and Wednesday were work related dinners at a nice place, Chow! Bella. (even the waitress doesn’t know exactly why the place is named that. Tuesday we too my parents to Mimo’s where my niece, Kat, works. She’s the floor manager and doing very well for herself. It took her a while to grow up but she appears to have matured into a nice adult. Thursday we went to see our old neighbors, Bruce and Monica. Bruce is not doing any better but not any worse either. Some kind of undiagnosed neuropathy. He had to lay down twice while we were there because of the pain. They’re great folks. Very down to earth. He’s too conservative in a lot of his views but it’s amazing the common ground you find with good people.
Last night we went out to for Chinese with Fred and Patricia. After we spent some quality time just sitting on the couch and talking. Fred’s having a little trouble getting around and can’t walk too far without a break. He’s thinking about a diary entry related to career choices and thoughts on planning out ones’ life. He didn’t know exactly how to put the right words down but I advised him to just write. Editing later is always an option. He articulated his comments quite well verbally.
Today we’re meeting Laura and Bob (old Bennington friends) and Bob and Mary (old St. Albans friends) for dinner in Burlington. They’re great people and we love to go out and have a few drinks and laugh. I’m looking forward to it.
Tomorrow we fly back to Cleveland if the Northeaster doesn’t get in the way. I’m watching the weather closely. It’s raining and snowing right now so I can’t get out for a walk. Maybe I’ll do some yoga and calm my mind after this hectic week.
Namaste
