Shit Or Get Off The Pot

This entry is for Amanda, who commanded me to write more. Commander Amanda. Hehe. Anyhow, I’m a sucker for pretty girls, so here’s an entry.

I think my return to the glorious world of smoking weed was short lived. Much like drinking, smoking dope for me never seems to work quite right. I mean sure, I get a little fuzzy headed, but I have enough stoner friends to know there’s supposed to be more to it than that. I think any weed I smoke is just wasted on my insane physiology, which says that anything that’s supposed to be nice or fun just won’t work properly.

The last straw for me though was that it seems to cause a nasty side effect with my TS meds. This side effect happens sporadically even without pot, but recent experiments have proved that even one cone seems to set it off badly, and that’s some shit I really don’t need in my life. The side effect is debilitating and pretty much renders me useless for anything besides lying in bed in agony, and that’s not what smoking ganja is supposed to be about.

I smoked socially for about two weeks, so now I’m going to try socializing without weed again for two more weeks, and see what the frequency of this side effect is. If it’s far less, then my mind is made up. If my options are to put up with that shit, or get off the pot, there’s no hard choice there. It’s been nice to be able to socialize with my green smoking buddies almost on their level, but it’s hard to do that while bedridden with no control over my eyes. Yeuch.

Sadly, not much more news here from me. Been playing World of Warcraft a bit. I love it and hate it equally. I’ve always been morally against paying a subscription fee to play games, but it’s as addictive as it is pointless. But if I look at it from the point of view that I’m actually doing something that isn’t laying in bed watching old Full House reruns, it feels productive and even fun. If I look at it from the perspective that I should be somehow working and making money to improve my sad life, then it seems really pathetic. It’s all perspective really, like anything I guess.

Everybody I know seems to be returning to study lately. My brother just went back to university, doing some kind of hardcore multimedia arts course that requires you to be a hardcore artistic genius to even get in the door. He didn’t need any other qualification besides his extremely impressive art portfolio, and he got in no questions asked with that. Apparently it’s hardcore as hell though, he’s been there a week or less and he’s already struggling under the workload. He used to play Warcraft for most of every day and night, now already he hardly has the time or inclination to play much anymore at all. Ironic, since he talked me back into playing after I quit a while back, and now he’s talking about quitting the game himself. Yikes.

Another friend of mine is doing a computer science degree, and she just got steamrolled by a test with like 100 questions that needed to be answered in essay form with 10-20 sentences each. Apparently it messed up her GPA completely, she was looking at making the Dean’s List beforehand and now she’s worried she won’t even pass because of that bullshit test. Scares me a little to think that there are people out there who can actually pass something like that, and I usually can’t even work up the mojo to write a journal entry in my own lazy words…

Anyhow, I’d like to ask something of you all here. I need some material for my next entry, so I’m going to do a survey. However instead of ripping off an existing survey from somebody else’s diary and filling that in, I want you to ask me the questions. When you comment on this post, please ask me 2-3 questions for me to answer in my next entry. They can be anything at all, from the inane to the super personal, from the trivial to the deep and meaningful – nothing is taboo, nothing is too simple or too extreme. I’ll answer every question I get, no matter what. When I’ve got enough questions to make a decent entry, I’ll post my answers.

Now… ask away!
