i jumped , shoeless, into a freezing stream today to retrieve a cell phone and credit card that had fallen from a friends pocket. the chill was riveting, shocked my senses. so awakening, and wet, and cold. just beautiful really. so i walked barefooted the rest of the way, only soaking wet tights to break the ground, holding my boots in either hand, we walked to the end of the trail where water crosses it, and sat down. smoked, got fuzzy brains, admired the scenerey and talked. we saw horses, and sunshne, and  water and reeds, and and and, just lovely natural things. long walk through the bitter air, bright leaves, and crunches beneath our feet. we were a leave crunching symphony. 3 pairs of feet in perfect harmony.

it was pretty.

last night i sipped wine, and sipped some more, and drank more than i should have. the limo ride home was perfect. chainsmoking with the windows down in the cold night, laughing our hearts out, and singing along to terrible pop music from the 90’s. i swear i have not laughed that hard in a while. actually, i laugh intensely a lot, but this was overdue. =)

and now i am home for the first time in the past few days. it feels like its been forever.

everything is so interesting.

…people mostly.

i started school in new york, where the cutoff date is/was(?) the thirtieth of december, as opposed to here, where it’s..the beginning of october sometime, i think. if i started school here, i’d still be in high school. nooo thanks! yeah…i just hope it works out. i am really, really terrified that it won’t work out.
