You see, there’s the now…
Currently listening to : Sin – Stone Temple Pilots
I’m just going to go ahead and and skip the whole, ‘wow, it’s been a long time,’ bullshit that I usually jump on and get started. Yeah, It’s been a while – this is what’s been happening.
First off – let me say, that I’m incredibly glad to report that since Easter of last year, I have been so consistently happy that it’s amazing. Last year, on that evening that I decided to get out of the house and follow up on a get together invitation from my then-friend Chelsea, I think I made one the greatest decisions of my life. I showed up at her place and was nervous because of the massive crush I had on her. To make a long narrative (which I’m in the process of chronicaling [sp? real word?)] ) when we were alone, I let the tattered remnants of that idiotic relationship that bogged me down until that point die when I got brave enough to kiss Chelsea. Never mind that I chickened out at the last second (something to do with her astonishing beauty which threw me off) and ended up kissing her on the neck. Haha – aww man. That night was beautiful. Nothing else mattered that night. Anyway…
Next, I got to see, touch and shout at one of my biggest musical inspirations. I went to Austin of January 20th to see ARMY OF ANYONE live. The band consists of The DeLeo Brother’s Dean and Robert (the latter of which is my favorite bass player of all time and reason why I picked up the bass in the first place,) from STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. I was front row, got to touch both the brother’s when they came up and got to see that I do, in fact, play "Piece of Pie" by stone temple pilots correctly by watching (being mesmerized?) by Robert. It was amazing. To top it off, I discovered a new rock band. HURT opened for Army of anyone (which was probably the best concert I have ever been too, second only the the Corpus Christi Nine Inch Nails show that I went to last year) and I got their album and don’t regret it. A rumpled copy of HURT’s set list is on my wall along with a drumstick.
And next, I cut my hair. Still, though, not guy short. lol. It’s shorter, layered and a little above my shoulders. I’m kind of hesitant to post a picture because I still haven’t gotten a decent one, but maybe I will anyway.
And one more thing – THE BAND. The band has been kind of slow moving at the moment. The last endeavor we did was play WINTERFEST last December and the pictures of the end are from that. I’m going to update again right now because there’s some big news brewing and I feel that they should have their own post.
Me at Winterfest ’06 – debut of my new Epiphone Les Paul Special bass.
Ditto – lots of that hair is gone now.
Fun shot – ditto. My other bass.
From left : Jona, Chris, me, Josh and Vanessa under us.
Richard Patrick, singer from Army of Anyone and Filter. That’s how close I was.
And the reason why I started playing bass on the left. Robert DeLeo playing with his brother Dean as he solo’s. One of the greatest nights ever.
I love you! It was the best Easter I’ve ever had. I was so nervous, lol. Kristy was egging me on to throw a pillow, and instead I almost killed you with it, remember? I’ve loved every second of this year with you. Oh, wow. Now that I think about it, I haven’t been to this site since you updated in November. We saw 30 Seconds to Mars that very night.
