This is about the big news that I mentioned regarding my band in the last entry. As I said, things have been kind of slow going after Winterfest which was mid December. I think we have a couple of shows coming up during February – local stuff. But then…something big.

One of my better friends Vanessa went to college up north @ College Station for about two years. She’s home for a while now, but while she was up there, she would throw shows and stuff just like she does here. So obviously, she’s got some connections from that time and one of them just came up and asked her if she had any bands that would do well for a slot at…Get this – South by Southwest Music And Film festival at Austin Texas. And who’s name do you think she threw out there? Yep. Myself and the boys from Murder by Association. In case you don’t know why this is a HUGE deal, read this –

" South by Southwest (SXSW) is an interactive, film and music festival and conference that has taken place every spring in Austin, Texas since 1987. The music festival is one of the biggest in the United States, with over a thousand performers playing in dozens of venues around downtown Austin for a week in March. "

This is one of the biggest musical events in the USA – talent scouts everywhere. Who knows? We might walk away with this with something. I’m hoping. I’m praying. Imagine that? Imagine if we get offered something? I’m not holding my breath and if nothing else, the experience will be wonderful. But still….who knows, right?
