n+4

I wrote yesterday’s entry at half past midnight and changed the date. Haha. I’m such a cheater.

But no NaNo cheating for me yet. Not even my usual ellipsis and em-dash cheating. I’m going to try to write 100k without cheating. O.o Really!? Yes.

Not going to write a long entry. Someone asked me about my widget and I’d just like to say again that I only have the widget that tracks my word count because I never removed it from my signature. This is the text, if you know enough about source code to put it in there yourself:

<img alt="" src="http://www.nanowrimo.org/widget/LiveSupporter/204471.png" />

Keep in mind that if you just copy and paste that exactly, you’ll get my word counter. I’m thinking that last number there is the user’s ID number on the website. I don’t know if there’s a way to find out what yours is to be able to change that so you can use a widget for yourself. Everybody else is just going to have to wait for them to finally get the new widgets up, I suppose. I’m sorry that I can’t be of more help to people; this really was just sort of a case of Lazy Kimbar is Lazy paid off in the end.

I’ve got a lot of writing to do this weekend. I’m here at my place right now and will probably be heading to the Shoe with Panda soon. Lots of writing to get done. Haha.

Last year I finished in twelve days because I was racing my friend Will, who kept pulling out in front like some crazy ass fucker who never sleeps. I don’t know. It was all I had in me to keep up with the bastard, let alone trying to maintain a lead. I managed to get the lead around the end of the first wee, and then it was just a short jump to the finish line a handful of days later. Crazy, right? By the way, interesting side note – the evil week two storm? Still happens if you write the novel in twelve days. BUT! It only lasts for like…two days. Who’da thunk?

So, this year he starts a day late, and then has the day off work the next day. He goes to sleep that night with something around 4500, and I pull out in front with my 6,200ish. Laugh at him, and then go to sleep. The next morning I wake up at 8 and go to work, and at 9:15 I check the nano site.

He’s already beat my 6k.

He then proceeds to write his way to roughly 11,500. That bastard! Ugh. So before sleep tonight, I want to catch up to him. Pass him by a bit. Then tomorrow I’m going to write all through the day and try to get up to about 20k.

Poor Amanda Black; she’s trying to keep up with *us*. Me and Will. Not really….a possibility when Will and I are aiming for 100k and I’m pretty sure that we’re still going to finish in half the god-damned month.

(fucking Will; I doubled my goal so I wouldn’t have to finish early! I may be writing a second novel this month….)

Anyway, talk to you all later. This was a much longer entry than I intended to write.
