a new kind of normal

I don’t know who was more surprised that it was a girl — Scott or myself — but probably me.

We’ve got 20 weeks down, 20 weeks left. The closet is increasingly overrun with OshKosh outlet purchases; our delightful crib is currently home to diapers, a breast pump, and other very-practical-but-not-terribly-cute baby accessories. You’d think we were having a baby or something!

How odd: in 20 weeks things change, and they never go back to normal. It’s an adventure I’m excited about, but saying goodbye to the pleasant existence we’ve known as a “the two of us” is daunting. I will miss the duo we’ve been.

I’m excited for you, but poor Scotty. I’m sure he was aching for a boy considering he is the only boy in his family. Well, maybe the next one! Yay, now that I know it’s a girl, I get to start spoiling her. We must get together soon…when school and preparing for a baby (on your end) are not taking up our lives! So pretty much, we might never see each other again! Love you Stella!

By the way, I wanna come over and see the overrun closet and crib and oogle and all your cute and non-cute things!

I miss you and want to come and see you and rub da belly. I am so sad that I’m broke and can’t afford a flight or more time off!! *pout* How’s the pregnancy progressing? No luck yet on my end, bah.
