Our Friends (3)
Time flies – it has already been the second year I met Ms Moh in the same occasion.
It was the first time last year we met after I graduated from post-graduate school twelve years ago. Indeed, I did see her in some other occasions but I did not approach her for any conversations. It was until last year I took the initiative to talk to her. It seemed in her first reaction, she recognized me but was not able to remember my name. We exchanged some greetings and updated news of each other. We did not talk much in detail but still it was a heart-warming chitchat with a great teacher whom I have known when I was young.
Everything seems to have happened yesterday. After a year, it was another chance I met her just today. We had a quick chat. Ms Moh looks aged and weak under the cover of a face mask. Time marks clearly on her face.
I am hoping to see her the third time, the fourth time… in the foreseeable future. Even though we do not talk much, it is always good to have some old friends pumped into our life – to remind us of our old days.
I see my 6th Grade teacher in town frequently at political meetings and just like your Ms Moh so does my teacher. She remembers all of her students. She posts on FB and for the school page and still takes care of her ailing husband. I hope to see her again.
