Entry #4 [Journal Series]
This is part of a series of entries containing entries from an old journal I started in high school. These will be followed by links to the scanned images of the original pages if you’re interested. Start Here
[Editor’s Note: This was originally written in the fall of 1994, but it was never transferred into this journal until now. It was originally written before Entry #2, perhaps the same day, but it was too long ago to remember. I will be improving it as I recopy it because I am confident that I can still recall the same passion I was wrapped in when I wrote it. I will save the original for comparison.]
The fallen leaves begin to choke the grass that has struggled to spread from the lawn to the woods, but it gives way to a multitude of various plants that seem to glow in their green brilliance as the golden sunlight of the setting sun reaches them through the filtering leaves above that still cling to their branches and limbs and manage to retain their green in the face of the cold, dark winter that approaches with swift, firm steps and an incy stare. The sunlight seems to dance off plant leaves as a zephyr rustles the beautiful sea of green life before me. I walk along the moistened earth that was once a very well worn trail – wide enough for three to walk abreast, but is now just a barely visible path that has been kept open by an occaisional traveller. Ferns overrun everything and mingle with clusters of small white flowers and moss to hide the old trail.
[Never finished recopying, oh well. There are two originals to this as well, the handwritten version of this copy and, the original copy this was taken from.]
